Re: Politics & Current Events

Last week, the German parliament took a vote on allowing same sex marriages.
Angela Merkel voted against the proposal.
All six muslim representatives (one of them a woman in Merkel's own party) voted for the proposal.

Since the POTUS no longer requires anyone to react in a politically correct manner: glad to read the UK Muslim Council has more sense than anyone inside the White House.

Re: Bombing at Ariana Grande concert in UK

I believe I heard earlier it was the 2nd largest arena in Europe so maybe the content of the music/audience demographic wasn't the primary concern https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_indoor_arenas_in_Europe That Sportpaleis number seems high to me (having been there a number of times)

I hear what you're saying but - your comment implies the bombers have some moral compass or that there are rules of no-go targets.

Fair point - anything that happened so far indicates they don't.

Feyenoord need a win in the last game of the season (after last week's loss) to clinch the title in The Netherlands.

Re: General Chit-Chat thread

Not serious enough to go in the politics thread but noteworthy: a Belgian speed metal band was denied entry to the US last month. Neither their musical style nor their name ("Evil Invaders") were the cause, btw. Their account of what happened on their facebook page is ... true to form :win...
