Re: #NotAllPitchers

Angels right-hander Nick Tropeano has been diagnosed with a medium- to high-grade tear of the ulnar collateral ligament in his right elbow, the team informed reporters (Twitter link via Mike DiGiovanna of the L.A. Times). While he’s headed for a second opinion, Tommy John surgery is the likely outc...

Re: 2016 Trade Deadline

I'd love to have Miller but I don't know that I offer up more than something like Vogelbach and Candelario. That's a good haul for the Yanks, with young guys who'd probably be on the roster next year. As big a fit Miller is, I don't like the idea of parting with a king's ransom for a reliever. I hon...

In case you were wondering, Bryan LaHair is still an All-Star. http://www.si.com/mlb/2016/07/12/bryan-lahair-all-star-chicago-cubs BRIDGEWATER, N.J. — On July 10, 2012, Bryan LaHair went from a five-star hotel to 38,000-seat Kaufman Stadium in Kansas City. Re: 2016 Trade Deadline

Will Smith from the Brewers could be a good option. Solid numbers and peripherals. Likely won't require the same package for Andrew Miller.

Re: General Baseball Chit-Chat Thread

Shelby Miller, who the DBacks gave up like way too much to get, has an ERA right now of nearly 9 Here we are in July and his ERA is still in the 7's. I'm sure Miller will stabilize and return to respectability even if he doesn't pitch like he did last year (which wasn't even great, it 'pretty good'...

Re: 2016 Trade Deadline

Speaking of terrible, Jon Heyman's "8 Dream Trade Scenarios"! 8. Arodys Vizcaino and Alexi Ogando to the Cubs for Jorge Soler, 1B Dan Vogelbach and 3B Jeimer Candelario. The Cubs are said to want to hold onto their very top prospects, so that would make Miller and Chapman tough for them. T...

Re: 2016 Trade Deadline

What about David Phelps from the Marlins? He's moved to a full-time relief pitcher this year and his stuff seems to be playing up quite a bit. Striking out 10.25 per 9, his FB average is up around 3 MPH and his cutter average a little over 2 MPH (he throws those pitches about 91% of the time). He's...

you can always ask a work friend to play the role of "indirect supervisor" Honestly, I've been in this position before and this is what I did. Technically, this work friend was also a supervisor, just not mine. A friend of mine recently did the same at another job. That's dick of them to ...

New update: https://pbs.twimg.com/media/ClAuJQoXEAAmfSz.jpg:large Zobrist, Bryant, and Russell have strengthened their leads. Fowler and Rizzo pretty comfortably in the lead. FINALLY.

Maybe he stays hurt or can't regain his form from the last couple years but this is still a good signing. Of course it comes after Richard goes two whole appearances without allowing a run.

I recall him being an intriguing prospect pretty recently. Throws hard, strikes guys out. Could be a nice pen arm if he sticks.

Re: 2016 Trade Deadline

What is a reasonable ask for Miller? Happ, Caratini and Jeimer? I could see Jeimar intriguing the Yankees. Headley has been ass this year and they don't have much in the pipeline at third (or really anywhere). I'd be more willing to give up more for Betances than the other two, but I don't want to ...

Still not sure how I feel about this trade. I know Mendy's star had fallen but I'd have thought we could get something more if we ended up trading him. Oh well.

Re: General Cubs Chit-Chat

For selfish reasons, I'm hoping for one rain out over the next couple of weeks. That would get me an Arrieta start when I'm at the game 6/18 instead of a Lester start (which wouldn't be a bad consolation prize) I'm going to Cubs-Phillies on Monday. A rainout before then would help both our causes! ...

Yankees-Rangers game in NY. In the bleachers. Friends were screaming at Josh Hamilton all game "We've got Coke in the bullpen!"

Probably the most use anyone has gotten out of Phil Coke.

I also recall during the roster introductions at the all star game a couple years ago, they got to Matt Moore and announc...
