Re: kenley jansen watch thread

I don't think its truly a matter of whether we CAN spend on a closer, as much as it is about whether we want to. I guess I just don't get why we wouldn't want to when there's nothing else to spend on this offseason. I get that last season was supposedly two offseasons of spending, but then we won t...

Re: kenley jansen watch thread

Weren't we told early in each of the past two offseasons not to expect much activity, only to end up with Lester, and then Heyward, Lackey & Zobrist? Or am I misremembering? I'd be surprised if we're not at least in on the premier closers. I'm going to be very surprised if we go with a question ...

Re: Politics & Current Events

I'm at the rationalization stage of the process too (Trump removing the Muslim ban from his website is a small win to cling to) , but are we really going to argue about whether the President of the United States, a position the people choose to run a branch of government and represent us to foreign...

Yeah, Hudson is intriguing too. Plenty of non closer(for us anyway) type of arms out there.....The question is how many guaranteed contracts do we add to the pen? Currently, the pen looks like this.... CL Edwards? SU Strop MR Rondon(if he gets healthy this changes obviously) MR Grimm MR Pena Swing-...

They cannot extend a QO to a player that has only been with the team for a partial season.

I cried like a baby. I don't think I'll sleep tonight. Lost most of the crew I was watching with during the rain delay, but hugging my brother after the final out is something I'll never forget.

I love you all.

Re: Roll Call: Who is going to be in Chicago for the World Series?

I'm still debating whether I'll be brave enough to head to Wrigleyville for any of the games. Realistically I doubt I'll end up wanting to go early enough to get into any of the bars.

Anyone going to be out around Ukrainian Village/Wicker Park or any neighborhoods in that area?

I was watching the game at a party with mostly strangers. No tears then, just shock. Listening to Pat's call on the double play later definitely brought the tears.

Re: Time to worry about Heyward yet?

Coomer only seems remotely solid to me when Pat is basically propping him up by spoon feeding him things to say. Agree the rapport is good between the two, but the value that brings is canceled out almost entirely by the fact that Coomer adds a 'y' to the end of everyone's names.
