Re: CDC Info on COVID-19 (Corona virus)
Depends on how many fans (I for one don't see the draw in going to restricted capacity games), but just having fans as ambient noise for baseball games would be nice. Why don’t you see the draw? Just personal preference. I can watch games at home on TV if I don't want to (or can't, in this case) be...

Re: Arenado's Cardinal Sin
I'm sure someone STL has given away in one of these trades since Dan Haren in the Mark Mulder deal has turned out to be pretty good, but I don't remember any of them.

Re: Arenado's Cardinal Sin
That doesn’t help Although if it makes us feel any better, his career slash away from Coors is .263/.322/.471, 79 OPS+ If only we could count on that, but it's been well documented that the wildly different things the ball does in Colorado screws with guys when they're away from Colorado, so he'll ...

Re: Joc
Joc is mostly just a fun house mirror version of Schwarber. My guess is when we dig in deeper on certain aspects (high fastballs?) he fairs much better and thus compliments the current lineup better. Supposedly his contact profile is slightly better. And he's likely going to be better in LF than Sc...

Ironically, if Robinhood was publicly traded, now would be a great time to short their stock.

I don't think they can actually make any trade right now right?
They can't be officially processed until March but they can be agreed to at any time.

I'm ashamed of myself that this actually surprises me. https://twitter.com/TheAthletic/status/1354170868465889286 MLB owners aren't just acting cartoonishly evil, they are so horsefeathering stupid. https://twitter.com/chivaxbot/status/1353531330231984130?s=21 Is there a logical reason for this outside of “we dont care as much about poor people and/or minorities”? Holy horsefeathers https://twitter.com/jbflint/status/1352700104373768194?s=21 that sucks but literally the only reason I ever tuned in was to watch NHL games. According to the ratings folks, NBCSN had recently passed FS1 and ESPN2 to be the 2nd-most watched sports channel. Whatever the reason for ...

Romine put up acceptable backup-catcher numbers in 2018 and '19 and was graded as good on defense. He put up DFA-worthy numbers on both sides of the plate last year.

My grandmother is 95 and is scheduled to get her 2nd vaccine dose on February 5. Other than getting my own life back, the possibility that she'll make it through the pandemic is probably the thing I'm most excited about.

I always thought Hoodie made Brady more than vice versa and I’ll accept this season as a strong point against that I felt the same and have basically given up on that line of thinking. The fact that I had to watch the utterly toast Cam Newton play a huge role in bringing me to that conclusion makes...

Oddly enough the tweet that crazy person replied to sums up my thoughts pretty nicely. People can have diversity in which teams play in the biggest games or they can have a 'true' national champion. They probably aren't going to get both.

You make some good points. Why not limit the number of top prospects a school can get, or put stronger limits on them? That’s basically what the NFL does through the cap. One of the final hurdles to just admitting they're a minor league development system? Why do people keep suggesting this? You ca...

I'm a huge fan of expanding the CFP to 8 teams or even 12/16 teams, but I'm starting to even consider that maybe 2 teams is better than 4. It seems like with 4, its virtually guaranteed that 2 of Clemson, Ohio State and Alabama gets in every single year. If I am a 5 star talent and I want to go som...

Re: College Football - Bowl Games
This is more of a theoretical exercise because it clearly won't happen, but I sort of like the idea of reverting to the more traditional bowl tie-ins (with a clear path for great G5 teams like Cincinnati to be included somewhere), then having the top 2 teams following the bowls play for the national...

I can’t believe how little Fields has done tonight. I’m sure he’s still hurt from the semi but 9-18 for 138 isn’t good. He was 12/27 for 114 yards and 2 picks in the big ten championship. I’m not convinced he’s a first round talent. Carolina may have cost itself 5 draft positions with a stupid win ...
