But this kid has two cousins (around 9 or 10 years old), who are currently playing on the trampoline. They are playing some game that involves them screaming at each other at the top of their lungs for no apparent reason.

This game has been going on for a half hour

get off of my lawn!

They're back out there again today, and I have an online meeting in a few minutes. It's beautiful outside and I'd love to keep the windows open, but I'm not subjecting my meeting to that

This seriously reads like a bad Nextdoor parody.

See I'm not an old man yelling at cloud. I am an old man secretly recording small children playing!

My daughter’s softball team is cursed. Every hard hit ball they get is right at fielders, and every soft dribbler the other teams hit find every hole in the infield. So frustrating

That’s an unsustainable pace.

I live in a house with 8 children with varying degrees of special needs, the oldest is 9. We have a trampoline and the sound of their trampoline screaming makes me want to murder someone, and they're our kids. I feel very bad for the neighbors.

So I guess I'm Team Derwood on this one.

Cause my life is dope and I do dope horsefeathers.

[The sound of fastballs] was one of those things that told me my pitches were fast....because I've never heard pitches as loud as mine.

Softball rant of 2:

After getting drubbed twice tonight, the team is now 3-10-1. The coach hasn’t (and won’t) change the batting order, which is producing about 2-3 runs per game (and the girl with the highest average is batting 8th)

And tell me if you’ve heard this one: the coaches’ kids are playing first, second and third base, and hitting 1, 3 and 4 in the batting order. Youth sports nepotism alive and well

Unpopular take: The coach's kids are almost always the best players on the team.

Props to the coaches willing to manage softball games while parents nitpick batting order

No one is saying a word to the coaches. My kid isn't a good hitter, so it's not like I think she should move up

The coach's kids are all pretty good hitters. They are mediocre fielders, though, and better athletes are currently playing corner OF positions where they get very little action. I long ago stopped counting the number of easy ground balls that became baserunners because the coaches' kids couldn't throw to first (or catch the ball at first)
