p.s. johnnie walker blue is a nice whiskey obviously, but is there really a $100 difference between gold and blue? hell no.

johnnie blue is generally purchased by snobs with too much money to waste who like showing everyone who rich and awesome they are.

Yeah, you can get tons of good scotch for $40-50 per bottle. No need to spend $150-170 on one bottle when you can get three or four bottles of good scotch for the same price.

Scotch isn't for everyone. Taking a good scotch and mixing it with Coke to make it go down is a complete waste, that's all. Just like grounding up the highest quality beef in the world and putting it on a bun is a complete waste, when ground chuck (a meat that is tough, gristly, and almost completely inedible in any form other than ground) can also make a perfectly delicious burger. But whoever said Johnny blue and Kobe beef aren't small things was exactly right.

Old/stale french fries are disgusting.

This is patently false. There are a bunch of ways to eat either a chuck steak or chuck roast (and most notably a chuck eye, which is nearly as tender and delicious as a ribeye) that make it tender and delicious.

But your point stands, good scotch and Kobe beef should never be corrupted from their purest forms.

Or people who buy expensive vodka and mix it. If you are going to mix vodka buy the cheapest [expletive] you can find.

Not the cheapest. Smirnoff or Stoli at least. That plastic bottle swill isn't fit for human consumption.

I've always maintained that buying plastic bottle booze is a sure sign you've got a drinking problem.

hahaha i used to drink that [expletive] in college. i remember a party i had in my room my senior year where i had one of those big plastic coolers and filled it with two handles of bathtub-like vodka, a handle of [expletive] rum, then some orange schnapps and a couple of other flavored boozes, then just dumped a bunch of fruit-flavored drinks in (powdered drink mix, frozen concentrated orange juice, jugs of fruit punch) and capped it off with a big thing of rainbow sherbet. actually tasted pretty good and everyone got hammered, so mission accomplished.

plenty of boozers with nothing but glass bottles in their overflowing cabinets, but I catch what you're getting at...

Plus with plastic bottles you can just squeeze the bottle while drinking straight from it and you don't even have a chance to taste it.

Do hipsters even drink fine booze? I thought they purposefully drank cheap stuff.

I've checked out quite a few restaurants I've liked on Yelp where the reviews are almost uniformly stellar...and then there's a small cluster of people who give a place 1 star because they realized they were drinking tap water.

I hate getting non-tap water. I hate having a group order where somebody sneaks in a request for bottled water, especially if it's with gas. And why the F is the de facto water order at many places bubbly unless you request otherwise?

But a little lemon in the tap water can be lovely as well.

Ditto! Throw in a lemon or cucumber and I'm golden.

with 1 percent humidity that we have as long as it is wet give it to me, you could put cow sh... in it and I a drinking it after a long run
