I'd be shocked if Javy gets dealt. The FO values his versatility a ton and its a great thing that he's a capable SS. Especially considering Russell still has his DV inquiry going, on top of missing lots of time to injury this year.

I'm not sure we'll trade any of the youngsters, but if we do, I'd figure it comes from Almora, Schwarber, or Happ. But, I'm not really thinking we trade for a starting pitcher this off season. I doubt we move any of the young position players and wait until the trade deadline, to see if we've had prospects develop that can basically net the same caliber of pitcher.

I just heard on MLB Network that Javy was talking about facing Kershaw tonight and said "Good luck to him."

And with that, I withdraw my consent to trade him. We need this man on this team.

That'd be effing stupid. I'd prefer we not trade a guy with a damn near historic glove that can hit 25-30 HR.

Schwarber seems to be the obvious trade bait. He needs to go be a DH somewhere.

Yeah Javy isn’t going anywhere, he still likely has more value to us than what he’d bring in a trade. Happ, Almora and Schwarbs are the guys to trade if they make one. Which I still don’t think is all that likely. I have some trade ideas I do like (that includes the 3 I mentioned) but until the offseason officially gets here I’m not talking about it.

With Zobrist slowing down and Russell seemingly banged up often I highly doubt Javy gets traded.

Why would we even consider trading Javy? He's obviously an asset to the team. He's not even arbitration eligible for another 2 years and even then it's not like we couldn't afford him. Not having Javy on this team would be awful.

Schwarber's value has never been higher. Baez's peaked over the last offseason, but is still higher than it should be. Not advocating either, but trading Schwarber right now would be stupid. He was untouchable a season ago. He's now a non-commodity.

Trading someone when there value is the highest is the time to trade( Not that I think they should trade Schwarber)

I'd be extremely surprised. He definitely has his offensive struggles, but with an infield of Bryant-Russell-Baez-Rizzo, you have probably one of the best, and youngest defensive infields in the majors.

If one of our young players gets traded, Schwarber seems like he'd be more likely.

The Cubs’ transaction list under Epstein and Hoyer reads like a work of fiction, a wish-fulfillment list composed in hindsight.

Wait what? Schwarber's value has never been higher but he was untouchable a season ago and now he's a non-commodity? That...doesn't make sense.

seemed pretty obvious he misspoke and meant his value has never been lower (which was probably more true about 4 months ago)

I don't know. He and Lindor's friendship and goofing around at 2nd base wasn't something that went uncovered.

Oh, I'm very well aware they're long time friends, just don't remember the GIF.

Haha. The first sentence should be, "Schwarber's value has never been lower." I'm trying to say its an awful time to trade him, and not a great time to trade either, even if one were inclined to do so. Which I'm not.
