Hey it wouldn't be a season/playoffs without me posting what the "experts" are saying. Not that the experts mean anything, I just like seeing what the overall vibe is out there.

ESPN:
http://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/2083 ... postseason

10 of 29 experts pick the Cubs over the Nationals. 5 of 29 experts pick the Cubs to make the World Series and 0 out of 29 pick the Cubs to win the World Series. 16 pick the Indians, 6 pick the Astros, 4 pick the Nationals and 3 pick the Dodgers.

USA Today:
https://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/m ... 23613001/#

1 of 6 pick the Cubs over the Nationals, and 0 pick them to advance to or win the World Series. 5 pick the Indians, 1 picks the Red Sox

All I can find right now

I believe they are. I remember listening to a game last year. You can also use International VPN or a service like delocator to watch the game.

They definitely are, I used it to listen to the bulk of Games 1 and 3 of the World Series (damn you, work).

I hate the format of those ESPN predictions. Give me names, I want to hold people accountable, dammit.

I like that nobody is picking the cubs. Go team.

Looks like we're going to have to sweep the Vaunted Nats to prove a point.

I always think Vegas is much smarter than ESPN analysts. Vegas has Cubs +100, Nationals -120. Very close to even money.

I'd actually bet the Cubs if I gambled on sports. They opened at +110.

Cubs have been playing better lately, and they have experience winning a WS. I don't think its meatball at all to say experience is really important.

Cubs in 4. :flythew:

Arrieta's sim game scratched and he will be throwing a side session in the pen instead.

Doesn't sound great despite their attempt to make it seem like no big deal.

I guess line him up as the 4th starter and if he can't go, have Lackey on the roster

None of this matters when the Cubs sweep them

I saw a tweet that implied the reason was weather-related.

Can't decide which I favor between this example of perfect gif use or the Dodd county taxpayers tweet.

----

In moments of doubt, which really don't happen anymore, I remember that the Cubs play Kris Bryant and Anthony Rizzo every day. When I do sleep I sleep like a wee babe, at least partially because the baseball team I like can drunkenly stumble to 92 wins and the division.

The Cubs’ transaction list under Epstein and Hoyer reads like a work of fiction, a wish-fulfillment list composed in hindsight.

Good. I wouldn't have cared if Lester and Q were flipped, but I believe in Lester's last couple starts, and this way Q gets his first playoff start at home.

So Jake won't be pitching in the NLDS after all? 3-0 sweep to send Dusty home.

With Jake pushed all the way to 4 I’d be shocked if Lackey doesn’t make the roster as the emergency starter for that game because it tells me they aren’t certain or comfortable Jake is where he needs to be health wise.

I am on board with this order...actually what I was kind of hoping for after seeing Lester's sold start on Saturday.

pretty sure he's out for the series but they dont wanna tell us yet. I was kinda worried when all of the Nationals missed their regularly scheduled season ending injuries. Alls right with the world now, Cubs in 3.
