You don't have to be on the 25 man roster to be eligible for the playoffs

Did MLB limit September rosters or has that not happened yet?

Yes. No Addison Russells allowed.

No you could still bring up the 15 extra guys who make up the 40 man if you wanted this year

Next year I think. I think this was a direct concession to get to the 26th man on the roster.

Zobrist will likely be called up before then so he's eligible for the playoff roster.

He's already eligible for the playoff roster.

I see that now. I didn't realize players on the restricted list were eligible, I thought they had to be on the 40-man roster.

I did the right thing and used the ignore feature, but you mopes keep quoting him so its only marginally effective.

That's why I didn't bother using it.

Hope you guys have the ignore feature on, because Russell stayed hot going 2-for-3 with a HR and walk tonight. OPS on the year in Iowa now at .943 and his OPS since his unwarranted demotion is up to 1.063. #BEST25

Hopefully he’s useful in September when rosters expand and he is up and then brings us an interesting relief pitcher or capable CF’er in the offseason.

Iowa doesn't play that many games in Las Vegas, Reno, El Paso, Salt Lake or Albuquerque that are where most of the crazy offense in the PCL comes from. The teams they play the most are 16th, 15th, Iowa is 14th and 12th in the 16 team league in OPS, In Russell's time in Iowa he's played 3 games in those hitters parks.

Happ had a 96 in his time and Iowa and how is that working out, also that number will go up for Russell after tonight.

Okay, you’re either Russell himself or his agent if you’re going to lengths like this to defend keeping the fringe major leaguer around. Throwing aside the being a piece of horsefeathers human and admitted idiot with the sign missing stuff as reason for him not to be around.

Theo brought him back and gave him over 3M so when he's one of the #Best25, yes I want him on the team.

We’ve been over how it’s debatable he’s one of the best 25. Also we save money at this point by him being in Iowa. He had bonuses for days being on the active roster.

But I think most people agree he's one of the best 25 players in the organization. We just #DontCare. You can keep giving daily updates on his PCL slash lines and we're not going to want him called up. He can get called up and hit 15 HRs in September and we're not going to want him on the playoff roster. He can hit another grand slam in another World Series and we're not going to want the Cubs to sign him in the offseason.

The fact that defending Russell is this important to you and yet there's no stat on his BRef splits page that will convince anyone to agree with you is the lone bright spot in this situation.

I was with you until the 15 HRs in September.
