Is this good news that nothing was found and he just wants a second opinion to confirm or bad news that he is done until 2020 and wants a second opinion to confirm?

I’m just hoping it’s a mental thing to get confirmation he’s not really “hurt” to get over whatever he’s feeling.

We have no idea with the little information we have. But he is going to a trusted doctor he's known for most his time in the U.S.

Hopefully yesterday's pain was just a minor setback. It's really frustrating Alzolay got hurt because the organization was clearly planning on relying on him in the second half this season and he's clearly better than all other internal candidates, non-Drew Smyly category.

That's incredible news. Maybe he can be back during that first series after the break.

It's an extremely cautious timeline, which I am fine with, but this injury shouldn't be a 2 month ordeal like this. They don't really need to push him though and this should keep him fresh for October.

Any time Hendricks and/or Quintana wants to stop being a mediocre buster is fine by me.

We shouldn’t be surprised. They are prolonging the inevitable, he’s gonna go under the knife again - if not now, then in the off season. Say hello to 2020.

Yeah, just pump him full of cortisone come playoff time and hope for the best.

I think this is good news as well. I don't care as long as Darvish is pitching well (and is healthy) right before the postseason starts.

But that’s also being termed the optimistic view. I read that as the best case view and that any other view has him out longer.

I could be taking it wrong, though.

Not saying it will happen, but the Cubs coming back from a 3-1 deficit to win the World Series does seem like the appropriate way to cap off this season and make the 30-for-30 even better.

Per the Trib, he is "weeks away"

Doesn’t sound like we can really expect Yu back anytime soon. Also reads to me like we’re in the market for starting pitching.

This reads like he is talking about the team’s SP in general.

Yeah I was thinking it could apply to the rotation as a whole.

Yu did catch/long toss today and a 16 pitch bullpen session and Maddon said it went “well.” Evaluate how he feels tomorrow and go from there so I guess not bad news but who knows.
