I buy almost all my tickets on StubHub, so I don't usually keep track of the Cubs' prices. I did go with my wife a couple years ago and we sat in the bleachers because the tickets were cheaper there, so it is probably a little closer to an accurate reflection these days, but for the most part you can usually get better deals in the 400s.

They have for those and bleachers. The new best value is the front of 200

I know generally speaking batting order doesn't overly matter... but if we are going to assume Schwarber/Bryant/Rizzo top 3 most of the time vs RHP do you guys think the pitcher batting 8th will get any thought to get that "extra leadoff guy" in front of those 3? We completely went away from it since 2016 or even 15, I forget, so maybe we found that there's no benefit or even a deterrent to doing it. Just something I've kinda been think about. Schwarber/Bryant/Rizzo/Willy/Zobrist/Russell/Heyward/P/Happ (or flip Russell and Happ) vs RHP is something that conceptually makes some sense to me.

I'd rather switch Happ and Zo but whatever.

Idk why I had no recollection of this, but I guess if Schwarber is the leadoff plan again I’d guess we will see it again.

Thats a neat tool. Did you know that Miami is 1-9 after 4+ days rest since 2007?

It's fun to start in 2011 and then go year by year.

I can't wait until the Cubs have a better record than the dirty birds over the last decade.

eta: it is nice to see the Cubs with a winning record over the last 10 years. Is there any other time in our recent history we could say that? I mean apart from the next ten years.

I guess Dusty is partially absolved. Whoever thought it was a good idea to have a 9 year old pitching in an MLB playoff game should get some of the blame. I hope he wasn't forced to throw any breaking balls.

Well, to be fair, this hasn't happened yet in our off-shoot of the time paradox. Dusty Baker Jr. creates a time machine in 2035 and goes back in time to take Mark Prior farther back in time to a place where his father cannot harm him, which, of course, prevents the Trump Presidency altogether. Keep reading for info on how Mark Bellhorn was involved in the Kennedy Assassination.
Edit: Crap, second joke in just never works as well.

Most professional pitchers these days are in excellent physical shape and do not, in fact, have big butts.

it's called Emerald Baseball. got it as a gift like six years ago and it's been sitting on my shelf since. since i was confined to my couch all weekend and didn't have anything else to read i finally powered through it. it was a quick, mostly forgettable read, some interesting/amusing anecdotes. but that definitely was not the only error in the book.

Surprisingly, very close twice in my lifetime. '84-'93 they were 805-808 and '00-'09 they were 807-811.

I found one from '67-'76 where they went 808-803.

Did Maddux really telegraph the high inside fastball like that, though?

horsefeathers, I guess he may have. Sorry I had never hear this before today.

Willy is the man, he’s definitely going to kicked out of a game Joe West is umping. I think the mound visit limit is a really dumb idea.
