Season Ticket Waiting List

Postby jersey cubs fan » Tue Aug 18, 2020 4:54 pm

I could have sworn there was a thread for this but no idea where it is.

In a bit of odd timing I just go notified I'm 1,969 on the season ticket waiting list, although I thought I saw closer to 1,000 when I checked earlier this year. Maybe if I go full time work from home this could happen next season.

I got the email too, 539 here. About 5 years too late for me. Kids, Wife, Job all get in the way. Might look into splitting them up like six ways with people and go to about 12 games a year

My Dad had season tickets from like 1990 to 2005ish, gave them up and put his name on the list just to see how long it would take. Got the call before 2017 (sweet timing), but didn't want them so I took over. Have two bleacher seats and split them up among like 10 people...some people have 20 games, some people have 5, etc. I keep all playoff tickets and we just do a draft where every game is the same price. Worked out pretty well so far, even if I don't know if it's financially 'worth it'. Just good to have a reason to get to Wrigley a bunch.

4840 as of this AM. I imagine there will be a good bit of turnover this winter, but that's probably far enough out to still be more like 2022

8,112. Which is what it was a few months ago. Looks like I got another year or two depending on how people respond this offseason.

Honestly, if you (or anyone for that matter) need extra people to split them with I may be interested until my number is called. I live 7 blocks away from Wrigley but I probably wouldn't go all the time even if I could so actually having a limited number of tickets at a lower cost makes sense for me until I can get my own.

For sure! They actually called me this past winter, I want to say just after New Year's saying I was 50/50 to get them this year(not that it would have mattered with COVID) I think I was around 5,000 at that point. I have a couple interested parties too, so if I can get 6-8 people, that would be great. Do some sort of snake draft 1-8, 8-1 etc plus do the same for the postseason. Just need to decide on where for seats, and how many tickets 2 or 4 per game.

I went from 26,372 to 1,975. That doesn't seem possible. Same email but different account number.

Might take you up on that too (or at least, I've thought about opening it up to the board). I'm at the age where my friends are having kids (as did we) and moving out of the city...last year I had to kinda scramble to find people to pick up 5 games just to get our number down to 20. Who knows what's going to happen next year though...

I have 2 full season tickets all to myself, ever since my brother decided to give up his half a few years ago. If anyone is seriously interested in a share, I'm sure we could work something out starting with next season. I can't make it to nearly as many games as I would like, and it is lot of work (mainly for my wife) to get rid of all the extras on Facebook/StubHub.
