Wrigley to be declared Federal Landmark

Postby Banedon » Thu Nov 19, 2020 4:17 pm

Seven years after filing the paperwork, Wrigley Field is to be given federal landmark status in the National Register of Historic Places, according to sources. The move will give owners of the Chicago Cubs, the Ricketts family, access to federal income tax credits on the recently completed refurbishing of the 106-year-old ballpark. The official announcement is expected Thursday.

Jeebus, have a heart man! First and foremost, this gives the Ricketts family a chance to at least try and pick up the pieces

Yes, this will greatly assist the legal payroll for Trump's election fund.

Right, it's like school vouchers. You're not actually incentivizing new activity, just subsidizing existing activity, thus freeing up capital for other stuff.

Now that Wrigley Field has received landmark status, I have an idea. Let's build another, modern-looking, structure inside the outer walls of the stadium. Something that looks... I don't know... like a spaceship?

You can pick up a lot of pieces for $150 million in tax breaks.

That's what...$25 million apiece? Where are they expected to live? What are they going to eat? How do they get anyone elected? Pete won't even be able to take his friends to DJ's Dugout anymore. You are basically asking them to become poor people over a baseball team
