As long as Maddon is around, he'll let him still be Javy.

Why would you think they would do that?

Because somebody wrote an article about the Cubs doing that. But then Sahadev responded thusly:

I really want Javy to go full Sammy and add the hop to his home run swing. A hop, a bat flip.....maybe a moon walk or a cartwheel. Go full heel

The horsefeathers? What a weird headline not relative at all to what Baez said.

Of course this was Clint Hurdles take, what an old bag of farts.

“Where is the respect for the game?” Hurdle said. “He’s hit four homers in two days, does that mean you can take your bat and throw it 15-20 feet in the air when you pop up, like you should have hit your fifth home run? I would bet that men went over and talked to him, because I believe they’ve got a group there that speaks truth to power.”

The bat flip did not go unnoticed in the Pirates’ dugout.

“That’s just the Cubs being the Cubs,” one player said. “It could be a little less sometimes, maybe.”

“Cubs being Cubs.” Oh you mean the team that’s won about 300 games the last 3 years, crushed your souls in 2015 and their impending behemoth of a team scared you in to a rebuild instead of trying to compete?

A team that employs Sean Rodriguez has no room to complain about other teams' behaviors.

A manager that presumably ordered, or at least had no problem with, his own pitcher intentionally hitting Jake Arrieta in a horsefeathering playoff game as 'revenge' for a couple of accidental plunks - IN A horsefeathering PLAYOFF GAME - can never say anything about 'respecting the game' ever again.

lol Cervelli did some vintage Tiger Woods fist-pumping in the 5th inning of an eventual 8-run loss, i'm not very interested in hearing what Hurdle's opinions are on what the proper sense of proportion for celebrations/reactions are

I'm fairly certain the motive wasn't even revenge but rather 'Arrieta is carving us up and our season has like 9 outs left, maybe if we put one in his ribs it'll throw him off and we'll have a chance.

Yeah, that's the exact same thing I thought when it happened. They did it just to try to throw Jake off and it failed spectacularly.

It’s okay guys, apparently Hurdle didn’t see Javy “own it” in his comments after the game before he commented. What a piece of horsefeathers, stupid, ignorant ass of man. Hurdle’s way of thinking is everything that’s wrong with baseball.

Javy has lived up to the expectations, as far as I'm concerned. There were a lot that wanted him dealt, there were a lot that thought he'd bust.

Hes good now, still improving quite a bit, and is one of the most watchable guys in the game.

Hes given us some serious ass joy.

horsefeathers Hurdle and anyone else who talks horsefeathers about Javy.
