The Cubs’ transaction list under Epstein and Hoyer reads like a work of fiction, a wish-fulfillment list composed in hindsight.

Wrigleyville will get its own larger version of what may be Chicago’s most-popular bar and eatery this spring. Big Star Wrigleyville — across the street from Wrigley Field in the game-changing Hotel Zachary at 3640 N. Clark Street — will give Cubs fans, locals, tourists, and hotel guests two floors and a large patio full of tacos, whiskey, beer, honky tonk and more that continuously packs One Off Hospitality Group’s original Wicker Park icon. The opening is slated for early April, in time for the Cubs’ home opener, according to a news release.

It's just going to be leftover pizza crusts, 2 day-old 7-11 nachos and dry cereal.

I wonder if this just replaces the restaurant/bar that was there last season (Brickhouse Tavern iirc)...not sure where else they could put it.

Some behind the scenes photos of what's going on in the article along with some new info.

Another change at Wrigley this year will be that Cubs manager Joe Maddon will have a slightly different point of view from the dugout. Both the home and visitors' dugouts are being pushed down their respective lines about 20-30 feet to accommodate new camera wells. Maddon likes to stand at the end of the dugout, closest to home plate. Instead of being lined up with the pitcher's mound, he'll now be behind it.

The dugouts, which were 7 1/2 feet wide, will now be 12 feet wide.

More at the link

Should be interesting to see if the camera angles look noticeably different with the new camera well locations. I'm sure it'll be mentioned more than once in the game threads.

on the opposite end of the spectrum, here's what would happen if we did absolutely nothing to Wrigley field:

Time to sign a bunt happy lead off hitter! Imagine the slow rollers in that lush infield.

Playing on a giant wooden surface is strange but I can live with it. All the trucks blocking the infield is a little too MTV Rock N Jock for my liking.

We'll get over it like the DH and interleague play.

I think that for as long as we have a "winning division, going to at least the NLCS" streak going, Wrigley should be completely torn down and rebuilt every winter (to keep the streak going)

I know it'll be more expensive than usual Wrigleyville fare, but isn't that going to be a weird group of people for a hotel bar?

I imagine they are going to have to establish some rules that they don't even know they need right now.
