I had no idea this was coming out, but here it is. Pat Hughes has done another of his Baseball Voices CDs, focusing on Ron, containing twenty tracks of Ron's "best" radio moments.

Track listing:

Open 0:59
Intro 0:39
Cubs Legend 2:25
Itching 3:10
Hairpiece 9:25
Sno(U)T 1:33
Cough Button 4:26
Fashion-Food Cop 7:15
Marketing Guru 0:57
Cage Dancing 4:50
Mixed-Up Mixup 10:29
1998 3:17
Let Them Eat Cake 2:52
Yogurt Overboard 2:20
Al Fonseca 1:13
Damn Hankies 4:40
Munsters / Addams Family? 1:43
Booth Bugs 3:51
That Is My Hall of Fame 5:50
Credits 1:38

The CD is available from the Cubs.com shop, from baseballvoices.com or, conveniently, via digital download on iTunes and Amazon, which is great.

Pat Hughes will stop at nothing to profit from the death of Ron Santo.

Now I know what to get my dad for Christmas. Neat.

I'll probably get this off itunes. Would be something fun to listen to while driving in the car. Wish it was longer though. You could probably make 20 hours worth of decent stuff Cubs fans would love. I would have liked a section of just Ron's shouts and cheers during big plays.

A relative of mine got me this for christmas. She said Pat answered her call himself and that he is a really nice guy like you'd expect. He went out of his way to help and autographed everything she bought (she got it for quite a few people).

I haven't listened to it yet but I will report back when I do.

I've heard or read many of these stories before, but it sure was nice to drive around listening to Ron again.

There's so many "cookie cutter" announcers out there now; it's refreshing to hear someone just call it like it is; Santo was one of those guys. Not many left anymore.
