It's obvious Javy is being fast-tracked. They've got to be thinking he'll adjust quickly and show some discipline now that it'll be needed. At this point, I can see him making an impact in 2014. Previously, I doubted he'd get more than a possible cup of coffee that season. It's going to be interesting to see how SS plays out for the future between him and Starlin.

Between the AFL, the pre convention camp, and this, they are certainly pushing him.

Where is Adrian Cardenas on this list?

I love Javier Baez. But this is pert aggressive considering his struggles at high A.

It's not really unusual. He'll get to practice and challenge himself with the best for a week or two, then go down to minor league camp and continue on. Doesn't say anything different about his development path, other than what we already know. He's extremely talented, and the challenge(however brief) will be a good thing for him.

True, I meant if they really expect him to contribute by 2014 like some had suggested. I think that's asking a lot of him.

Could be good for him to get a quick taste of how nasty major league or borderline major league pitching is in terms of encouraging him to work on selectivity.

Yeah, doubt he gets more than a handful of ab's/innings in actual games, it can't hurt his development working with the major league coaching staff and being around "professional" MLB players for some time.
