I find it hard to believe Jim Leyland was ever a good manager. Nice Daniel Murphy, Paul Goldschmidt and Giancarlo Stanton on the bench.

Baez just got hit by a pitch and I about died.

Replay shows that it glanced off his forearm and hit the knob of the bat, so not bad at all, but.....ugh

The WBC is essentially down to a regular single elimination bracket. USA/DR play today(no tiebreaker shenanigans, winner advances) for the right to play Japan in one semi, Netherlands/Puerto Rico is set as the other.

He also slid hard into 3B and then limped/jumped around

Also concerning.

I'm pretty sure Javy will get banged up doing something throughout the season because how he plays so if it happens now so be it I suppose. I'm sure he's fine though.

Rondon comes in for mop-up duty and gives up a 2r HR to Kennys Vargas

Another pitch left up at the letters

Could just be one of those inconsistent relievers who gets it and loses it and then 5 years later you think "remember when that Derek turnbow guy was a dominant reliever?"

Of course turnbow was never as dominant as Rondon has been, just the first example I could think of.

That Jones catch was so similar to Griffey robbing Lou Collins in Little Big League that I had to stop for a second to make sure I hadn't sat on the remote.

I like how you can see him choose to engage into Evade-Mode like he's a [expletive] sliding robot.

I love how upset he gets when the umpires are unable to recognize his brilliance. He's always correct whenever he starts yelling for a challenge, too. It doesn't matter how close to bang-bang it is. And it doesn't matter what kind of play it is. Somehow he knows if he steps on first a split second before the ball lands in the first baseman's mitt, and he knows it with 100% certainty.
