The CUBS have never lost to the Braves on Wed 04 July.......

He is not graceful. At least he didn't break his wrist landing.

Turned on the game literally as LaHair was mashing it; nice way to start my viewing.

How is Maholm looking?

A few hard hit balls, but he's been about what he normally is: decent.

Man even when he gets out, Rizzo has some great looking contact.

What are the Cubs realistically going to be able to get for Lahair?

I'm starting to think that it better be a pretty good prospect or else there is really no reason to let him go. He is a cheap, team controlled player who provides left handed power and can play multiple positions (albeit not spectacularly). Even if he is not an everyday player, why deal a piece like that unless you are going to get something of real value in return?

If he can be a .270/.800s hitter and play a decent RF, let the scouts watch Soriano and DeJesus instead. It's not as though there are a ton of options for corner outfielders, and nobody's going to give up the type of pitching prospects we need for him anyway.

I don't think there's any chance we trade him for scraps. I know some here think he sucks, but he's controllable through his entire career basically. The only issue I see is a team trading for him needs a guy to platoon with him. We may actually NEED to throw in Baker or Reed to go along with him, depending on the team. Friedman mentioned there'd be teams trading from a strength to fill other needs, so part of me thinks he's talking about LaHair. Maybe we could get Alex Cobb and something else for him.
