Under on the Brewers.

I definitely agree with that, but didn't say it because some people around here get very sore about the whole dismissing the Brewers thing.

Then they can bet up the over so I can take Brewers under 85.

The headline for Deadspin's update article is maybe the best thing they've ever done:

Is this the tweet that finally necessitates a dedicated Grant Brisbee appreciation thread? I think it might be.

So if Kyler Murray enters the NFL draft, gets picked and signs with an NFL team, do the A's get a comp pick as if he didn't sign?

I believe he forfeits the money but the A's don't get any picks or anything.

No, but the NFL team that drafts him will forever be mocked for taking a 5'10" QB

Just saw Juan Nicasio in the pool at my resort in Mexico.

He has a sweet chain.

The Cubs’ transaction list under Epstein and Hoyer reads like a work of fiction, a wish-fulfillment list composed in hindsight.

EXCITING TREVOR BAUER UPDATE: he's still an idiot who doesn't seem to understand people can read/hear what he says.

And, of course, the Duke shirt.

I've encountered several Cubs fans recently who want Bauer to be acquired specifically because of how he "tells it like it is." I judge them for it.

I mean he is certainly a flawed person and would be an annoyance, but the bar for the Cubs right now is being set at "Does he physically abuse women and make them fear for their lives?" so as a cyber bully/troll he's looking pretty saint-like at this point.

Fortunately, we can chew gum and walk at the same time and realize there's a sliding scale of awfulness and we wouldn't have to tolerate them "only" trading (hypothetically, thankfully) for a rampant Trumper who traffics in conspiracy theories up the whazoo.

This is a weird take. It's like saying, "At least Louis CK isn't Harvey Wienstein."

It was a joke and a jab at how awful Russell is. I want no part of Bauer.

Seems like a pretty big deal MLB is allowing this and setting the precedent for the draft rules now to really not matter (not that these guys shouldn’t be paid, more surprised they are allowing it). I’d assume most highly drafted players/agents will try and pull this move now to get more money.

my favorite part about this is that there is a very high chance that murray is not a very good baseball player and doesnt really like it that much in the first place

Good reasonably in-depth read on Kimbrel’s key to success now and moving forward:

https://www.si.com/mlb/2019/01/14/craig ... mors-value

Another reliever, Joe Jimenez, I kept suggesting as a trade target (back when there were hopes of a super team to send Slappy away from) shows up in there too
