Maybe he left because he was just like, you know, not wanting to work with a racist bigot.

Probably not, but good idea.

Not saying it will happen, but the Cubs coming back from a 3-1 deficit to win the World Series does seem like the appropriate way to cap off this season and make the 30-for-30 even better.

Harry, the last several years was an angry, old, dithering coot that most Cubs fans adored.

Harry was no where near as spiteful as Marty has been. He’s a total jerk to opposing teams fans - especially the Cubs fans. He’s a dick.

Thom is my favorite announcer to listen to when the Reds are losing and in the basement. His misery is just so delightful to hear.

wait. what? did he ever play second as a major leaguer? (just checked and no)

this seems extremely good for us, who want to see the brewers have terrible defense

Yeah, especially after watching Murphy last year I'm very skeptical of this idea that you can just magically make anyone into a 2B through the magic of shifting. I mean it's probably fine late in games when their pen is striking out 30% of the guys that come up, but it's tempting fate to experiment with this given the makeup of their starting rotation IMO.

Shouldn't this thread be updated to something, like, "Brutal NL Central knockdown street brawl to the very bitter end (between everyone but the Cubs)?"

Fangraphs initial playoff/division odds are out:

https://www.fangraphs.com/standings/playoff-odds

Cubs - 49%
Cards - 27%
Brewers - 13%
Reds - 8%
Pirates - 4%

Honestly I think those are a tad light on the Reds and Pirates.

I kinda like the balls on the Brewers...They’re running with Burnes, Peralta, and Woodruff in the rotation. I especially like Burnes, Peralta has been a performer, and Woodruff can maybe eat some innings as a sinkerballer

I kinda figured they'd go the "horsefeathers defense, hit dongs" route and start Dietrich in his place. Either way, tough break.
