The Cubs’ transaction list under Epstein and Hoyer reads like a work of fiction, a wish-fulfillment list composed in hindsight.

I hope they lose at least 100 this season, but I also fear for the safety of the dozen or so decent people in the St. Louis area if they do.

Don't worry. God said he'd spare Sodom and Gomorrah if there was just one decent person there.

There was at least one guy on GWRB last night who kept reacting to Heyward's AB's like he was relieved he didn't have to "deal with those anymore," like it was this ordeal to suffer through a 6 WAR player last year.

he did hit a horsefeathers ton of ground balls last year. i understand how that can be really annoying. especially given what he looks like he should be able to do.

but yeah, the overall value obviously washes all that out.

Dealt with it all last season. Tons of meatheads out there that will bitch about him all year. There will be some on this board doing it.

Isn't the opposite of average still average since it falls in the middle of quality scale?

I think the opposite of the definition of average is the antonym of average which according to the internet is abnormal.

These first 2 games of the season are slowly forcing them to realize we are their new overlords. The creeping panic down here is delicious.

Went to take a quick glance at the Cards talk forums and the first thread I see is them bitching about Matheny for having a failed bunt attempt after a leadoff double.

lol it's 2016 and people still don't understand that strikeouts aren't necessarily a symptom of impatience

same guy thinks the idea that bryant and fowler are patient is so laughable that it's worth being sarcastic about
