Well, there was that one dude who tried to call Hendry.

We had a guy call Hendry and convince him to trade for Rich Harden

The Cubs’ transaction list under Epstein and Hoyer reads like a work of fiction, a wish-fulfillment list composed in hindsight.

When Andy MacPhail first got to the Cubs he (or his intern) would respond to email questions pretty promptly. He'd ask pretty sensible questions back. I'm actually pretty certain it was MacPhail himself.

I'm sure trading for a 32 year old with 1 year left on his contract will be a great move St. Louis

The Cardinals should sign/trade for as many 32+ year old sluggers as they can find. Over-the-hill power bats are clearly the new market inefficiency.

Donaldson has 5 WAR in only 111 games.

yeah he's really good. But they will likely have to pay a hefty sum for 1 year and then feel obligated to sign him to a long term deal into his late 30's

Agreed

Hopefully it costs them Weaver or Reyes but they'll probably find a way to get him for Piscotty and Kelly or something stupid.

Giving up Kelly would still be a significant loss for them. And it would virtually guarantee that Molina gets the majority of the paying time until the end of his contract, which I'd be completely fine with because he's bad now.

I figured that was already guaranteed with the contract. Seems like Kelly will be their big trade chip and they'll just horsefeathers out another C in a couple years.

Donaldson's hairdo alone puts him in the top 2% of douches. I've always seen him as baseball's Kid Rock

Goodness, the Indians are just out of their minds. 32-2 in their last 34, is that some kind of record?

With Kluber/Carrasco to Miller, there’s going to be some very low scoring games in the post season.
