I'll miss Matheny. He was a true idiot, through and through.

Definitely in the camp of, “dang I wish they were still letting this idiot screw things up,” but I’m also going to enjoy that their organization is at the point that they are doing something like this. First time this 30 year old has experienced them firing a manager.

Congratulations are in order for Mike Matheny setting a franchise record by spending 16 years in the organization without killing himself while drunk driving.

Lots of speculation that Girardi is the top candidate for the job...but if so...why fire Matheny? They basically have the same old school, no fun, managerial style.

Girardi is actually an intelligent person though. There’s no way he’s possibly as bad as Matheny.

I mean, Girardi is better at saying sentences, and Jersey may have the best context of being closer to his Yankees day to day, but it sure seems like Girardi carries the risk of the same problems.

What’s the deal with Cardinal fans saying The Athletic story from a week or two ago was fabricated?

Which is exactly why they will hire Girardi. He has the Cardinal Way written all over him, but he hasn’t lost the clubhouse like Matheny...yet.

Every Card fan I know wants Oquendo promoted.

From what I understand, Matheny said the story was fabricated and then Mark Saxon, the author of the piece, played audio of Matheny saying those quotes on a radio show.

Ozuna has the same fWAR as Rizzo, and Pham is half a win ahead of them both.

Not to be the fun killer here, but it's because that account largely, and purposely highlights those posts that are bad at spelling/grammar.
