Has nothing to do with anything, really, in light of the rule above, but I recall that playoff walkoff HR by the Mets; Todd Pratt I think ran onto the field & picked up the hitter in celebration before he even got to 2b, he never did cross home due to the celebration. I'm pretty sure that impacted the O/U for that game too.

EDIT: or was it a walkoff HR by Pratt? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

There are no force outs available in a walk situation, so this can't be right.

It seems the rules are murky:

Someone send it to Len. If he or JD don't know, maybe they'll send it to that rules guy they were talking about yesterday or Saturday.

This was my understanding as well.

Harold Reynolds just said he had a problem with Bryce Harper’s .219 batting average and then followed that up with “he’s making an out eight out of 10 times”. I’m at a loss for words about how stupid that statement is.

It was Robin Ventura, and it turned his walk-off grand slam into a walk-off RBI single.

Yeah, but you quoted the wrong part of the rule. You meant to quote this part:
When the winning run is scored in the last half-inning of a regulation
game, or in the last half of an extra inning, as the result
of a base on balls, hit batter or any other play with the bases
full which forces the batter and all other runners to advance
without liability of being put out, the umpire shall not declare
the game ended until the runner forced to advance from third
has touched home base and the batter-runner has touched first
base

Now we can all sleep easy!

So apparently all of the California teams are blacked out in Hawaii on MLB TV. MLB’s blackout rules are [expletive].

Related: McGwire's 62nd home run in 1998 should have been called out for illegal help from the first base coach.

My work has an office in Hawaii and one of the guys that works there is a Cubs fan. He told me he couldn’t watch last night. MLB Network said it was either the Cubs game or the Dodger game and he didn’t get either. So I did a little searching and found that info out.

"When I saw OT coming through the gate—and again, it's not that I don't think he can pitch—just not the guy I was expecting," Francona said, per The Athletic's C. Trent Rosecrans. "I know Carl's beating himself up right now, but that one lands on me."

The Reds aren't going to finish in last place. They dug themselves a massive hole, but have been pretty good for 2 months.

Now if they trade away everyone who is any good, I retract that statement

Also, every pitcher throws 95+ with some sort of breaking pitch. It’s harder than ever to just put a ball in play.
