That seems a little less racist and a little more out of touch frat douche bro. It's a bad look either way.

Man, that whole Holland thing is horsefeathering flabbergasting. How nobody came diving in screaming to cut the feed from both ends at any point is insane.

What's the big deal? Holland was clearly just paying homage to Asians. <greenfont>

We all know that the bottom line is that all sports are loaded with racists, bigots, misogynists, and homophobes from the players up to the owners. Obviously some of the players aren't smart enough to avoid putting their hatred out in public, but then again they weren't hired for their brains. They think it makes it a little more acceptable with the POTUS and VPOTUS in DC tweeting and making vile statements weekly.

It's 2018 and I'm relieved that the Hitler reference, however wildly incorrect and inappropriate, wasn't positive.

The MLBPA finally went and hired a really good lawyer to handle the next CBA negotiations:

https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2018/08/ ... iator.html

Meyer comes to the game of baseball after decades of experience with unions of other sports. Most recently, he worked for the National Hockey League Player’s Association. There, he functioned alongside NHLPA executive director Don Fehr, the former longtime MLBPA director.

Fehr’s notable run at the helm of the MLBPA — which spanned several contentious and controversial episodes in labor relations

It shouldn't be so hard to do better than the last CBA for players but it absolutely needs to happen.

The announcers acted like it was clear as day...I sure didn't think so, Yeah his momentum was heading away from the bag but his foot leaving the bag and the ball being caught was very close. Right call, but closer than they made it sound.

I bet the BFIB are taking this news really hard right now. Angels should probably cut him loose and acquire a better 1B if they want to keep Trout from leaving in a couple years. Also making the playoffs would help.

It's a shame that Pujols has been mediocre on a team no one cares about, because his early years were unbelievable. Just look at his rookie year. Holy horsefeathers

There’s still $87M left on Pujols’ contract!!!

Not including the $10M personal service contract that kicks in after he retires.

So very true, unfortunately.

So Moss just got inducted into the NFL HoF and Pujols is a first-ballot HoF player and they were among the best at their respective positions. Pretty sure Carmelo isn't getting into the NBA HoF.

Obviously, context is important for this question. I'm assuming it's geared toward younger people. A 5-year difference doesn't really change the perception of these players for older people.

Are you 5 years younger than me?

Carmelo is a 10 time all-star and 3 time Olympic gold medalist (who I believe led the Team USA in scoring at least once). There are 6 players who have 24,000 points, 6,000 rebounds, 2,500 assists, 1,000 steals, and 1,000 3s; Kobe, Vince Carter, LeBron, Dirk, Pierce, and Carmelo. He also put together one of the best ever freshman seasons in college hoops history: 22/10 and a title.

He's a first-ballot guy.

During a "Not For Women Only" panel discussion, former Cubs pitcher Mike Bielecki asked several players to invent a baseball catch phrase for Viagra. Theriot's ad campaign: "Viagra -- I always play hard."

Ah, whoops. Damn, I didn't look at his stats. That's crazy impressive. I knew he was high-scorer, but I still want to know how efficient he was and what his career FG% is. These last couple years haven't been great, but he was very good before that.
His reputation isn't great either among players and his defense was suspect.

Still, he's going into the HoF w/ those numbers.
