Who could have guessed that a team built around mostly pre-injured young SP would see multiple SPs miss signficiant time to injury?!?!

fullback that franchise

I had a draft hitters early ignore high end arms and load up on quantity discussion with a couple mets fans 2-3 year ago and they've delighted in teasing that I think pitching doesn't matter.

I take no pleasure from the mets plight now, none whatsoever.

Bummer bout them Mets. It would have been fun to clobber them into nothingness soon.

Nope, his motion had him facing first base on a line drive headed straight for his hip, so his instinct was to absorb it instead of moving his arm.

wtf....Francona took like half an hour to even leave the dugout. Seems like most of the time the manager is racing the trainer out to an injury.

Maybe he was waiting for his scooter to charge.

Mets fans on that board are all like:

'OMG we are so unlucky, I can't believe the team that was built completely on young pitching is having so many injury problems'

Yeah, it's quite funny. "Oh man, what bad luck we've had that all of these perpetually injured players got injured again!"

And then some of them are like, "Oh well. Shut it down for this year and then get healthy for next year." And they are drawing up their lineups for next year and including guys like David Wright, who has a degenerative back issue, and d'Arnaud, whose shoulder is horsefeathers beyond repair. Oh and then there is that rotation with a bunch of perpetually injured pitchers, with both elbow and shoulder issues. Yeah, those are usually the types of guys that get healthy for the next year. And they're even including Wheeler, who hasn't even thrown in, like, 4 years.

Every time I've visited that board, there's been one or two people trying to explain it to them and it never, ever seems to penetrate. It's been like that for several years. And you would think the fanbase of Isringhausen/Pulsipher/Wilson or whatever it was would remember.
