Let's hope this is a sign that Aramis is starting to adjust to High-A pitching.

In June, .261/.414/.609 with a triple, 2 HRs, 5 BB and just 3 Ks.

For a while now, the narrative has been that the Cubs have struggled to scout and develop pitching, and I think deservedly so. But that might be changing. We've seen several arms take a step forward over the last couple of seasons.

Last year the big breakout was Adbert Alzolay followed by Dillon Maples and Michael Rucker. This year the breakouts haven't been as big (yet) but the list is quite a bit longer.

The biggest and most suprising breakout is Matt Swarmer. It's rare that a 19th rounder from just two years ago would already be in AA after dominating at Myrtle Beach. Bailey Clark has shown great improvement. Tyson Miller has taken a clear step forward. Clifton has bounced back. Underwood is back on the map. Tyler Thomas is a thing now. This is Lange first season, obviously, but the development of what seems to be a plus change up has had his ERA drop from 4.65 to 2.89 in his last 4 starts. Rucker and Robinson continue to hold their own in AA. On the scouting side, Cory Abbott has had the best start to his pro career than any of the Cubs previous 2nd round picks under Theo, and Mekkes has been a scouting hit as he's basically dominated every level since being drafted.

The last two seasons have given me hope that maybe the Cubs can develop pitching after all...

Caratini with his first HR of the year lol.

This kid really needs to learn to pull the ball or hit with a higher launch angle. His approach at the plate is really good, but I wonder if he'll ever develop even average power.
