Additional rule: you have to have one or the other. The only exception is you have an amazing board name. davell, I'm looking at you; put up a [expletive] avatar or something if your name only sounds like somebody tried say Dave as they lapsed into a coma.

The extra exciting thing about Mekkes to me, and this may be anecdotal since I obsessively follow him more than most, is that for all his video game numbers a lot of the damage he allows happens when he gets stretched into multiple innings. Last night was pretty emblematic of that: K, K, K, K, 1B, PO, 1B, BB

Another fun fact: Mekkes has given up 6 runs this year. One of them was a 9th inning home run that he followed up with a scoreless 10th. All of the rest have come from innings with the contrived 'runner on 2nd' situation for extra innings, with 4 of the 5 being unearned because they were those runners.

First two pro HRs given up by Lange, who is already out of the game. He went 4.2 with 4 Ks and no walks. Pelicans getting beat by a pitcher I wanted to draft in 2016, Bernado Flores out of USC.

Zack Short's having a weird season with big Iso numbers, tons of fly balls, lots of Ks, and a .212 BA. I'm thinking next year is going to be a big, loud year for bats in the system. What Short is doing in AA should play in AAA and even today's Majors, maybe lol.

They're still playing, so I'm thinking there was a rain delay. Looks like something after 1 out 8n the bottom of the third. Not sure if it was rain, how long it lasted, or what though.

RHSP Jose Albertos continues to struggle with command (mostly by spiking his FB in front of home plate or throwing it over the batter's head), allowing four runs (three earned) on five hits (four singles and a double), four walks, a HBP, and two wild pitches in 3.1 IP (73 pitches), while throwing only 48% strikes. He was, however, also occasionally brilliant, striking out six and getting batters to repeatedly hit his pitches into the ground when he was not recording a punch-out, issuing a walk, hitting a batter, or throwing a WP (4/0 GO/AO).

Jose Albertos: 3.1 IP, 5 H, 4 R (3 ER), 4 BB, 6 K, 1 HBP, 2 WP, 4/0 GO/AO, 73 pitches (35 strikes)
