Additional rule: you have to have one or the other. The only exception is you have an amazing board name. davell, I'm looking at you; put up a [expletive] avatar or something if your name only sounds like somebody tried say Dave as they lapsed into a coma.

Morel demoted to AZL. Hopefully he can get jumpstarted down there again.

Also, Andy Weber has had about as rough a beginning as I remember a college bat having. After a K in the 1st tonight, he’s 1 for 12 with 8Ks.

Glad to see. And Soto was demoted. Both moves were necessary.

Morel AND Jonathan Soto got demoted to the AZL. AZPhil mentioned Soto a couple times, something along the lines of a guy with some possibly interesting tools at C.

Jose Gutierrez hit a double, walked, and didn't K filling in for Wilson. Ademan went 1/3 with a walk and K.

Yet another teenaged supposed switch hitter made his debut the other day in the DSL, Ronny Simon. Misael Garcia and Luis Rodriguez both had solid outings today. Garcia and Rodriguez join Carrera, Bruzual, and Vargas as teenaged LHs who maybe have shown some aptitude and aren't so far behind the current head of the teenaged arm and LH pack, Marquez.

I'm half listening to the Eugene radio broadcast and only velocity given for Carrera was a 79 MPH swinging K curveball. Eugene's lineup is getting their asses handed to them by whoever is pitching against them.

No better time for Nico to go on the DL than the day before I'm going to see them play.

I'd been thinking exactly the same thing after checking box score and before popping over here.

He's added a couple more K's in his 2nd and 3rd AB as well. 10K's in 14 AB, for the line-drive contact hitter that got full slot.

After 29 Ks and no walks in 91 ABs in Eugene, Christopher Morel draws a walk in his first game after the demotion. Maybe the kid's getting the message...

Gotta be time for a bump. Maybe the Cubs want to keep him in Mesa to monitor him at the rehab center, but performance-wise, he's ready.

14 IP, 7 H, 1 ER, 3 BB, 19 K.

Overslot by a little bit, actually. Sigh,

But Cole Roederer is still killing it. 3 for 5 with 2 2Bs and no Ks last night. I really wish we could watch these AZL games on milb.tv.

That's what I was wondering. Bruised or broken rib.

Only explanation for his absence is that he, along with D.J. Artis, were sacrificed so that we could have Nico and Roederer.
