Seeing Keegan Thompson going today made me think of the top prospect list over at Bleachernation. I normally don't read anything over there written by Luke Blaize, but had some time to kill (apologies Luke, if you post over here as well). It's pretty awful, IMO.

1. Miguel Amaya
2. Keegan Thompson
3. Nico Hoerner
4. Alex Lange
5. Erich Uelmen
6. Adbert Alzolay
7. Jonathan Sierra
8. Cole Roederer
9. Erick Leal
10. Aramis Ademan
11. Nelson Velazquez
12. Matt Swarmer
13. Brailyn Marquez
14. Zack Short
15. Brennen Davis
16. Duncan Robinson
17. Charcer Burks
18. Jhonny Pereda
19. Brendon Little
20. Reivaj Garcia
21. Trevor Clifton
22. Ian Rice
23. Cory Abbott
24. Dakota Mekkes
25. Jose Albertos

I’m not a big prospect guy right now, but even for the little I know about our prospects. Umm, that’s not a good list.

Yeah, I saw the list the other day. I don't want to criticize too much because Luke seems like a good guy but it's definitely...something.

Keegan Thompson got roughed up. 2.2 IP, 9 H, 5 ER, 3 BB, 3 K.

Cory Abbott: 6 IP, 3 H, 0 R, 2 BB, 9 K. I'm beginning to think he's ready for AA.

Not a great list for sure, but just going with the consensus doesn't make you stand out or get clicks. It's not a great list, but who cares about the middle or bottom part of the list. Keegan Thompson at #2 is laughably high. I do like Jonathan Sierra and he has a nice swing and some talent. I think he might blowup next year or down the road. Still very young so he has time.

He does have Jhonny Pereda at #18 so that's something.
