Exhibition game for Myrtle Beach tonight. Here’s the lineup:

Sounds like the Pelicans, especially DJ Wilson, really believed in and brought their best selves at that time:

Due to the contest being an exhibition game and Pelicans starter Erling Moreno's high pitch count, the inning was called with the bases loaded and no one out. Moreno worked four innings and allowed two runs on six hits while striking out three and walking two.

D.J. Wilson , who went 2-for-3 on the day with four RBIs, gave the Birds the lead in the bottom of the second with a two-run single, making it 3-2.

After a quiet third inning, the Birds added on in the bottom of the fourth. After Jhonny Bethencourt doubled, Wilson crushed a two-run homer to give the Pelicans a 5-2 advantage.

Moreno probably didn’t bring his best best self but was probably just about to when the inning was called.

Mooney reported it's a lat strain. He's still "shut down".

From the same article at The Athletic
Cubs farm director Jaron Madison said Alzolay is “100 percent healthy now” and on track to join the Iowa rotation in early May.

And this on Amaya's off-season:
Amaya spent most of the offseason at the team’s Arizona complex, getting bigger and stronger and trying to avoid what happened last year at South Bend. Amaya earned an invitation to the All-Star Futures Game (.865 first-half OPS) but then wore down in the second half of the season (.634 OPS).

“He attacked it,” Madison said. “He really focused on his body. He did a really good job committing to the program (and) getting himself in as great a shape as possible. I expect him to get off to a hot start, like he did last year. And I think this year – with the guys that are hitting around him – he won’t have that fall-off. He will be challenged. He’s going to learn a lot this year.”

I don't know what Jaron is talking about when he says "the guys that are hitting around" Amaya being a help to him. That Pelicans line-up looks pretty weak. There are several returning players like Ademan, Mitchell, Wilson and Galindo that could see better numbers the 2nd time around, but no one in that batting order is proven. And the Carolina League is notoriously friendly to pitchers...

yeah, that looks like a terrible lineup to me. Maybe by being mostly older veterans they'll end up being OK. But to me it looked kind of like Herron, Amaya, and kinda like having mostly a bunch of Heywards or something!

Sounds like Tseng is at risk for not making the I-Cubs (also, Christopher Morel and Jonathan Soto both homered - one of them off AAAer Colin Rea): https://www.thecubreporter.com/04022019 ... -riverview

As in he's hurt or he's going to be DFA'd?

Hopefully Tseng is DFA’d. He’s a waste of a 40-man spot.

He had a poor performance against Eugene/Mesa players, and there's a ton of depth in AAA already. I doubt one performance would be reason enough to cut him, but if he was already on the bubble...

I do think he’ll get DFA’d when Addison Russell’s suspension is over and they need a 40-man spot. Alzolay should be close to ready for Iowa’s rotation by then too and Rea should already be ready.

Yeah, it's either him or Barnette and Tony's on a major league contract...
