Hey, some guys that can strike out a hitter! I think I'm spoiled from about 5-10 years ago, where the Cubs were striking out everybody in the minors and majors. But not coincedentally, they were also bringing up solid pitchers back then too.

“When I picked up a baseball, I threw it left-handed and if I picked up a football, I threw it right-handed,” he said. “It was just natural for me. I didn’t know if I was supposed to throw with my left or I was supposed to be right. I just pick it up and start throwing it.”

Interesting on Scott. Clearly a very long-term project. He's going to take some patience. The note on mechanics and teachability/work ethic, though, those are pretty encouraging.

Heh, funny on Marco. Kind of sad when supposedly our best defensive infielder has 8 errors in a couple weeks in Boise. AFter all the angst about him getting send down from Peoria and how good he'd been doing recently and how unfair/regrettable it is, it's certainly been clear that he doesn't lack for challenge at Boise. He's clearly not been overqualified or under-challenged there, that's for sure.

Lake could just be getting game one off since they're playing two.

He's in the lineup for Game 2. Batting 3rd, playing 3rd.

Baseball America has his gamelog, and it almost seems like his defensive position is scheduled. He's consistently done 4-5 games at SS, followed by back-to-back games at 3B, before going back to SS.
