After cancelling Iron Fist last week, Netflix cancelled Luke Cage last night.

Pretty obvious this is Marvel/Disney just setting the table for their upcoming streaming service. The next season of DD will probably be the last new batch of episodes for a Marvel TV show on Netflix.

Sounds like it's more than that, although that could end up being the ultimate result.

That....all reads exactly like Marvel trying to get out from under Netflix, IMO.

Iron Fist was terrible and I could not get through the 2nd season of Luke Cage. The writing and storylines have been awful.

Three episodes into Maniac and I still don’t have any idea where it’s going.

It's like that throughout the season. I liked it, but they could've tightened the story up.

I’m watching WKRP in Cincinnati on ME-TV. In the episode Johnny Fever becomes a local tv star (as a disco dance show host named Rip Tide). The TV station has Rip Tide start to record all of their promos. He’s watching his TV promos one day at the radio station and in the promo he says, “Don’t forget, after my show is Hogan’s Heroes.” What is on ME-TV after WKRP? Hogan’s Heroes! 37 years before it actually happened he announced what was coming on next. MIND BLOWN.

I'm pretty sure the episode of the Good Place last night was my favorite of the series.

It's such a good show that it's really hard to pick a favorite.

My jackass upstairs neighbor belongs in the bad place. We needed our roof refinished. The bastard told the roofer he could toss the dish up there. It was his old dish, but when I moved into our place 2 years ago, he said I could use it. I hooked it up last year, and needed access through his unit to gain roof access. He was there.

He claims he had no idea I hooked up directv using his old dish.

I had receipts and showed him our text conversation last summer about when directv would arrive, and how I could use his old dish.

Long story short, I missed last week's ep and now need to watch it via the GD app which forces commercials on you. This is the worst thing to ever happen to a person.

I quit The Deuce about halfway through its first season. Maybe I need to give it another shot.

Most definitely. I'd like to think all of the HBO shows about naked dragon dwarfs horsefeathering their killer robot cowboy sibilings or whatever make the mountains of money that allow things like this to keep existing.

I’m just not feeling it yet this season. It has had its moments and is still a decent show, but I don’t think it has been nearly as good this season as the first two seasons. And this particular episode really didn’t do anything for me because so much of it centered on people other than the core six, and I’m concerned that is what we can expect moving forward.

There has been no point in this series that you could make any assumptions about what to predict moving forward.

True. But it seems like this season is going to feature the “Soul Squad” saving their friends and family and that much of the humor will be derived from those characters. But like you alluded to, this series is great at throwing curve balls, so who knows!

The part that's weird to me is that I thought that Brian's comment must have surely been about the truly fantastic Jeremy Bearimy episode, but instead it's about the the perfectly just OK "Jason's dad is, of course, just an older dirtbag version of Jason" episode.

I felt very in tune with this series which...frankly causes me some concern; although my big take away is that Emma Stone is going to turn up on my doorstep any day now.

Very nice work by Jonah Hill so much so that I may have to review my thinking that his academy award nominations were mostly bogus.

Fun Fact: Sonoya Mizuno who played the female scientist was the replicant(?) in Ex Machina.

Yep. I was like "THIS is the episode you're freaking out about?" The Jeremy Bearimy timeline is probably my favorite moment of absurdity in the series AND it went really deep philosophically.

The "B" story was far better than the "A" story in last week's which hurts it a lot even though it was really fun
