I genuinely had a lot of fun. And it helps that epcot is a tremendous bar crawl opportunity

I was there during one of their Wine/Beer/Food fests several years back and it was amazing. Load up on some genuinely great food from all over the world, and then order some flights of beer.

It's not pearl-clutching, it's Disney trying to make too many movies based around the same small number of characters. If the Star Wars Universe had as many heroes/villains as the MCU, it could justify putting out one or two movies per year

i dont think this argument makes any sense

the problem is more that the star wars movies, despite their best efforts, are really only attracting the nostalgia crowd. All of my friend's kids were [expletive] their pants to see the avengers and none of them cared about any of the star wars movies.

On one hand, i try to read every post of yours in a tortured souled voice of an ‘80’s past dusted by capitalism propelled by a pre-lead banned petroleum era only to be stunned by your presumed age to realize stupidity reigns across decades. And every now and then, you make some sense.

Its stunning, thats all I’m saying.

This is delightful news.

https://news.avclub.com/taika-waititi-i ... 1833508169

Jon Favreau’s upcoming Star Wars TV Western The Mandalorian keeps making the kind of behind-the-scenes decisions that intrigue us despite ourselves—which is sort of just a fancy way of saying he keeps asking Taika Waititi to do stuff for the show. The What We Do In The Shadows director was already on the hook to direct an episode of the series—alongside folks like Bryce Dallas Howard, Rick Famuyiwa, Better Call Saul’s Deborah Chow, and Star Wars animation favorite Dave Filoni—but now it turns out he’ll be voicing at least one character, too.

And not just anybody: Per a photo Favreau posted on Instagram this week, Waititi will apparently be lending his voice to fan favorite murder-droid IG-88, a.k.a. the coolest-looking of all the bounty hunters that Darth Vader hires to try to track down Han Solo in The Empire Strikes Back.

In regards to that that laugh.

Spoiler: show
After the trailer was played in the hall, the lights lifted and Ian McDiarmid was on stage....after a ton of applause, he took a moment and in the Emperor voice said "Play it again" and they played the trailer one more time.

There are theories that explain the title, in a way that doesn't mean she's related to Luke.

Spoiler: show
One of the theories out there is that with the Jedi gone, that Rey starts a new group, call Skywalkers.

It could (and pretty obviously does, IMO) mean a million different things besides "Rey is a Skywalker." My guess is it's either the rise of the legend of Luke Skywalker, the rise of baller Force ghost Luke finally showing us what these damn ghosts can do, or Kylo finally embracing that part of his heritage.

It’s also been reported that JJ is undoing some of the changes Rian made in TLJ, meaning her lineage may actually be Skywalker (if that is what Abrams originally intended)

If that's what they're going to do, it seems a little on the nose to give it away so clearly in the title of the movie.

Maybe, but aside from TLJ, Star Wars titles are all completely on the nose. Subtlety was never Lucas’ strong point

Undoing what made TLJ great would be a terrible idea.
