Nope, it's a sequel. I'm guessing any mentions to the first one will be pretty jokey in nature though.

i'm tepidly looking forward to this one?

My optimism for the movie is centered around James Gunn. If he can turn an unknown IP with a raccoon and a tree into one of the best MCU movies, he should be able to make Suicide Squad good with more recognizable characters.

The greatest trick the devil ever pulled was to convince the world he didn't exist.

Harley and King Shark are really the only real recognizable characters in this though. The rest are all very low tier characters.

As were Groot and Rocket, but Gunn made a super fun movie with them

Of course, but that wasn't my point at all. I was simply saying these characters still aren't super recognizable.

I don't know that the characters are comparable. One of the things that made Guardians interesting was it was set in outer space and alien worlds with an interesting backstory to work from. This story is taking traditional minor villains and giving them something to do. The first one was so terrible.

It looks really bad. Like... I know the original isn't great, but this really looks bad and I don't think Lebron has nearly the hype or fame MJ had in the mid 90's to pull this off.

this is a weird take. for one it's a meaningless cartoon movie where animated characters carry 90 percent of the movie. Also lebron is more popular than like 99 percent of actors, even "stars." It's not going to take a lot of heavy lifting to star in a basketball movie with bugs bunny

Yeah, it's probably not something that I'm gonna love like the Jordan one, but that's because I haven't been an NBA fan in a long time now. I'm sure it will do quite well, especially with very little competition.

The original was better because Jordan lived in a nice colonial in a quaint upper middle class neighborhood instead of a mansion.

I've only ever used this for physical products so it's possible digital rentals may not work perfectly, but at least for Amazon this should in theory let you set an alert: https://camelcamelcamel.com/product/B08 ... ext=search

Real life makes a dumb thing from Entourage even worse:

Pete Davidson is starring as the iconic Ramones frontman Joey Ramone in an upcoming Netflix biopic based on Ramone’s brother Mickey Leigh’s 2009 book I Slept With Joey Ramone: A Family Memoir, The Wrap reports.
