Spotify played this song for me today and holy crap, I'd have sworn this was Chris Cornell.

I don't know this song but I love their debut album "In Loving Memory Of" released back in the 90's. The singer even looked like Cornall a bit back then IIRC.

MIAMI—After the singer was charged this week with two new counts of engaging in prostitution with a minor, local music fan Daniel Allen admitted Wednesday it has been hard squaring his image of R. Kelly as a beloved abuser from the 1990s with the reality of him being a reviled abuser in the 2010s. “In my head, he’s still the R. Kelly I grew up with, the guy who wrote ‘I Believe I Can Fly’ and had already been sued for impregnating an underage girl,” said Allen, who confirmed he longed for those simpler times, years ago, when all you knew about the R&B artist was that he made great records and had demonstrated a well-documented pattern of predatory sexual behavior with children. “I have all these great memories of seeing him on TV back then, when he was accepting Grammys, appearing in groundbreaking music videos, and going on trial in Chicago for making child pornography. Now it feels like those memories have been tarnished.” Allen added that while he is horrified by Kelly’s crimes, there are a few songs from back in the day when everybody knew what the singer was getting up to that he still loves.

There are a lot of rappers who put out a lot of material and a lot of it is bad. This does not apply to Ghostface. He has avoided the proverbial wall with aplomb.

You can probably add De La Soul to this list, too.

Yeah, "In Loving Memory Of" is a fantastic album. The rest of their work, including Ian Thornley's solo album and his other band "Thornley" all have some decent tracks, but a lot of filler.

The Mrs. decided that me and the kids were going to see a Blue Man Group performance today. I thought it was kinda cool, especially when I realized it was basically a PG version of a NIN concert, but you replace Snape with three emotionless, alien mimes. #imhip

That's cool and all, but I think the most disappointing live show I've ever attended was RATM. It was at nearly the very end of the Battle for Los Angeles tour and they were just completely out of juice. Low energy, short set, and at a pretty crappy venue. Complete meh. I hope they rock tho.

That was towards the end of the original run, no? If so that would make complete sense. Only time I saw them was opening for U2 at the Cotton Bowl and the energy was ridiculous. And that wasn't even their crowd.

They did Renegades the year after but yeah, it was post-awesome RATM.

my first concert would've been rage against the machine and the beastie boys at alpine valley in 2000 but mike d. broke his arm riding a bicycle and they cancelled the tour. rage broke up shortly afterward so the tour date was never rescheduled.

Me too. It basically had mutated into a mini-touring festival made up of 5-6 headliner-type bands. I remember the openers for the date I had tickets to were going to be No Doubt and Busta Rhymes and someone else I'm blanking on right now.

I also had tickets to the Rage/Wu-Tang tour in '97 that collapsed.

I saw them at an event called L.A. Rising and they were the worst out of Muse, Rise Against, and Lauryn Hill. I'm being serious. That was the lineup. This was in like 09 or 10.
