4:44 is so bad. The only song I can see myself ever going back to is Marcy Me.

Lead single's got a big fat dose of anti-Semitic lyrics right in the middle of it, too. Yeesh. Definitely is some old man rap horsefeathers right here.

The Defiant Ones HBO documentary on Dr. Dre and Jimmy Iovine was excellent. Lots of great old footage included.

Yeah, that made last part something I mostly kept tuning out on; all of the music stuff was really interesting/entertaining, but them getting stupid rich via some plastic garbage that literally has junk crammed into it to make it seem more substantial was boring.

I kept thinking, "dude, do you REALLY want to act like it was this big deal that you didn't put out an album for 15 years largely because you were obsessed with making absurdly overpriced headphones and speakers that sound like butt?"

At least it surprisingly didn't skirt the Dee Barnes issue like the movie did, though, unless I missed it, it left out the similar issues Dre had with his first wife, too. And this is super dorky, but man, how pissed must Arabian Prince be? Completely left out again, and now you've got Dre taking credit for "Supersonic," too. That's cold.

I'm not sure Dre even thinks that Beats are that great. The documentary really emphasized how they knew that the only way to make them popular was to strap them to every rapper and athlete they knew. I don't think they were under the illusion that the product would sell itself on quality

From a marketing standpoint, sure, but they flat out had him talking about how obsessed he was with the sound quality and "bringing studio quality to the people" or whatever the horsefeathers.

Who's gonna be the first hip-hip billionaire between him, Puffy and Jay-Z?

more nerd talk: beats doesn't provide any technical specifications with their headphones. that's the white piece of paper included in headphone packaging showing the frequency response curve and impedance levels. they're designed to boost the low and high end of the frequency spectrum via internal EQ, compression and amplification aka LOUDNESS. over time, that leads to ear fatigue and tinnitus. jimmy and dre get paid while beats users go deaf...

Trick question: the answer is obviously, "listening to the RHCP with a pair of Beats headphones."

Not really a LP fan but this news is sad, especially considering he was close friends with Chris Cornell whose birthday is today.

I was personally always surprised at his consistency to be flat or off key.

Today, I found out a work buddy was the Best Boy in this video. A best boy is the gaffers second mate so to speak. When Eddie Yes to "Josh, turn off the horsefeathering lights", that's who he's yelling to.

I bet at least 1,000 dudes named josh have used that claim for years.

Admittingly I wrote that fairly cryptically last night. Josh Taft was the director, my buddy was his Best Boy. I tended to believe him as he had pics of himself as s young lad surrounded by lighting gear with Eddie snarling in the background
