Pretty cool time capsule audio of George Harrison finding out about Led Zeppelin during the Let it Be sessions.

Just saw coldplay at Fedex Field in DC. Pretty great show. Chris Martin thanked us all for giving them our Sunday nights and said he knew we were skipping Game of Thrones to watch them play.

Did they play Speed of Sound? I was listening to the radio the other day and they were talking about bands that hate some of their own hits and apparently they refuse to play that song live.

They played basically every other hit except for Speed of Sound.

Viva la Vida, clocks, every teardrop is a waterfall, the scientist, yellow, fix you, in my place, sky full of stars, paradise.

After I typed out that list I found a link to their setlist for tonight: https://www.setlist.fm/setlist/coldplay ... 53468.html

Uhhhhh...

What the hell:

Hip-hop artist and Mobb Deep co-founder Prodigy died on June 20 while hospitalized in Las Vegas. At the time, his death was presumed to have been caused by complications from his sickle-cell anemia, an illness he’d battled most of his life. Prodigy (real name Albert Johnson) was in the hospital for about a week following a flare-up, which occurred during a meet-and-greet. Now TMZ reports that the coroner’s office has just confirmed that Prodigy (real name Albert Johnson) died while choking on an egg at the Las Vegas hospital.

Yeah...ok. My point is that I'm unfamiliar with Mobb Deep or Prodigy. So just a guy to me.

Still...crummy way to go.

This was rumored at the time but they never mentioned that it happened at the hospital.

yeah i had heard that rumored, too, but also had heard it was at the hospital.

I don't know the symptoms/complications associated with sickle cell intimately but i just kind of figured that if he did choke on food that perhaps it was in result of having a reaction to his SC. Again, i have no idea if that is a crazy assertion or anything - just what i had imagined may be the case.

Sometimes you don't need more than a headline and a photo:

Did 1997 contain the worst two weeks in music history?

I was extremely familiar with blues traveler for a couple years and would never make such a mistake.

Only a couple weeks after, one of the most disappointing purchases of my music loving life was released: Bone Thugs - Art of War

What a steaming pile of horsefeathers that record is

Man, I've got a cousin who was REALLY into Blues Traveler for a couple of years and it was so bizarre. He basically went from being obsessed with Pearl Jam to being obsessed with BT to being obsessed with the jam band Moe (and actually working for them, ugh) to running a legal weed operation in Colorado. In some ways that line makes sense, but then I can throw in the spanners of him have a horsefeathering doctorate in some kind of super mathematics I have no hope of understanding AND that he's Japanese, and it goes completely off the rails. He is an enigma. And he owns harmonicas that John Popper has slobbered all over.

The Cubs’ transaction list under Epstein and Hoyer reads like a work of fiction, a wish-fulfillment list composed in hindsight.
