It's National Cheese Day. Whatever that means and I've never heard of this day before...

Anyway, I did find this tweet hilarious and I'd be pissed if someone did this to me.

Why would you ask for cheese on the side? Where were they supposed to put it?

Damn. That's pretty sad. Suicide is a growing problem in this country and many Western countries. It horsefeathering sucks and when a celebrity does that it sometimes leads others to contemplate it or attempt it as well. Really tragic.

I horsefeathering hate suicide and any art form that shows it like Netflix's series "13 Reasons Why" too.

Not to get preachy, but if anyone here is depressed and/or having ill thoughts please seek help. Call the National Suicide Prevention lifeline (1-800-273-8255). Call a friend. Call someone if you're in trouble.

EDIT: There is no shame in seeing a therapist either. IMO everyone should see a therapist to help cope with their problems.

Man, I have no idea if those little disclaimers help, but I can't imagine they hurt. Preach on. You obviously never know.

https://www.colorlines.com/articles/tea ... -ap-course

AP World History is going to change from starting at 8,000 BCE and instead start 1450 CE.

The current AP World History course and exam cover 10,000 years of history across all seven continents. No other AP course requires such an expanse of content to be covered over a single school year. AP World History teachers have told us over the years that the scope of content is simply too broad, and that they often need to sacrifice depth to cover it all in a single year.

As a teacher of this class, I'm not really sure why teachers would be against this. The class itself must be taught from a global perspective. It's not as though African or Asian history just ends in 1450. In fact, I see this change as affording me more time to spend on Africa and Asia (besides China) and go into more detail about every other unit that we cover.

If I had my druthers, I'd start the class with the beginning of the Roman Empire. This skips all of the dawn of civilization stuff and starts where there's a lot more interaction between the Eastern Hemisphere. As currently constructed, the test already puts very little emphasis on this anyway.

Speaking as a student who LOVED history for the vast majority, mesopotamia can go horsefeathers itself. The absolute most boring horsefeathers.

The only person who makes it interesting is Daniel Quinn, and that dude can make the bible interesting
