Same here, but the PS1 horsefeathering showed up and rocked everyone's faces.

This feels like we're on the verge of SSR having some terrible realizations.

I was a Sega kid, maybe that's why I'm so horsefeathers up.

When the SNES came out, I HATED the controller. The shoulder buttons messed me up bad. See, I spent hours and hours in the arcade playing coin op games, so I grew accustomed to using my forefinger and middle finger of my right hand for the buttons. On the NES controller, I played that way (instead of using my right thumb). When the SNES came out, there was no way to play that way and still use the shoulder buttons.

i believe christmas 95 was when i got ps1

i remember we set it up in the kitchen and i played gameday with my older brothers while my mom made breakfast

also remember it taking a really long time before i could get a baseball or basketball game for it. bases loaded 96 was so bad too. then the triple play games came out and my life felt changed.

Hey mods, wake up and move this very specific topic out of general chit chat and into the specific thread dedicated to this talk.

i remember being confused by the playstation in general (loading times, shapes instead of letters, sony?) and that after extended play time, the holes where the screws go on the controller would start to hurt my hand. there was a pretty tight final fantasy game on that system though that i played the horsefeathers out of, but i forget which one

All I remember is we got ours with a bunch of games, including Twisted Metal 2, and that game alone instantly almost made everything else obsolete in terms of what everyone wanted to play.

my favorite ps1 memory is the demo disc that came with the system with about 20 game demos. my favorite demo was some sort of die hard game where you had a first person view of driving a car, and i would gleefully mow down pedestrians. there was probably a different objective, but i had a great time running people over and seeing the wiper blades wipe the blood off the windshield. what a psycho.

That WAS the official Die Hard game, and it was horsefeathering great. It was basically three games for each movie packed into a single package: the first movie was done Metal Gear-style, the second one was a shooter designed to be used with a light gun, and the third movie was the driving game you were talking about. Man, that was a great one.

i also borrowed my friend's copy of ridge racer and stayed up all night on a school night to beat every race and unlock the black lambo and somehow managed to horsefeathers up saving it on my memory card and i lost it the same night. think it went corrupt or froze or something. i was v sad.
