You aren't insinuating that someone would slow cook (via any method) a filet mignon are you?

Does he think people who use slow cookers ONLY use slow cookers?

I'm pretty sure he's actually a lunatic eating a shoe.

First of all, filet mignon is great if cooked properly

B, I must be a super rich SSR guy because I have a crock pot, a grill, an air fryer AND a Foreman Grill! WHAAAAAT?

The Cubs’ transaction list under Epstein and Hoyer reads like a work of fiction, a wish-fulfillment list composed in hindsight.

Yea... I mean even in the crock pot... it certainly doesn't get hot enough to boil. Sooo, yea?

Guys, there's only one crock pot recipe in the Cubs cookbook, but before we get to that here is the picture they used for PTR for the foreword;
Image

I didn't read the foreword, but presumably it discusses how instead of cooking and buying food for yourself, if you rummage through the Wrigley Field dumpsters after a day game you can find all the Vienna beef Frank's they couldn't sell.

Enjoy your meat soup.

Ahh, filet mignon, the sucker's cut, for steak eaters that don't like the taste of steak.

I was with him if he had just said ribeye.

If this is a shot at the boiling meat insane person, nice. If this is yet another drooling goon thinking you boil things in a slow cooker, GO TO HELL AND BACK TO ELEMENTARY SCHOOL SCIENCE CLASS. I can never tell with you.

There is a meal in the book that calls for boiling meat, fyi, specifically parboiling, which I had honestly never heard of.

Also, here is slow cooker shredded chicken breasts, just with some salt, pepper and a little broth. Sat in the fridge overnight. Sweated some onions and then warmed through and added a handful of cilantro, Tbs of taco seasoning, and a few spoonfuls of refried beans, Greek yogurt, and salsa. This will be the filing for some tacos tomorrow and they honestly won't need much more than that. It will not be dry or rubbery in the least, even after two rounds of cooling (though immediate consumption would be better) Image

What is it, someone's recipe from prison?

I'll take grilled chicken thighs over that any day.

That’s a productive use of measurement.

I need some steakhouse or other great restaurant recommendations for Chicago. Going to be in Schaumburg for a few days, then in the city a few days. Craving a steak tonight though.

Don't think you're going to get much beyond the 'chain' steakhouses out there, but Morton's and Prime are pretty good. As for downtown steakhouses, I'm partial to Bavette's and RPM Steak, the former being more of the classic steakhouse feel and the latter being more modern but having incredible steak. Boeufhaus is off the beaten path a little bit but is also really good and supposedly has a great lunch. If you're looking deep dish I think it's worth it to get outside the downtown area for Pequod's, but everyone has their own opinion on that. For burgers, I think Au Cheval has the best one, but the line can be really long...if you're in a hurry, hop up to Old Town where they just opened a Small Cheval for 90% of the experience.
