When Schwarber wins the WS with a big fat dong and uses his bat to club to death every player on the other team and half their fans, I expect every one of these talking heads to defend him. -yanrslatr

What a show, King George cracked me the hell up.

It's sticking with me. I knew I would like it and enjoy it immensely, but the music is sticking with me in such a strong way. I find myself with parts of a different song stuck in my head every day and need to listen to it over and over again. I keep thinking I have a favorite track then something new pops in my head and gets stuck. Like right this moment the lyric "Why do you write like youre running out of time?" Is stuck in my head. Yesterday it was the song "Hurricane". Before that it was "Take a break".

It's astounding how good the show and it's music and performers are

I knew baseball parents were bad, but oh boy are they ever.

I obviously watch baseball, and have played with my son with foam and plastic bats/balls. So, my son decided to play baseball this year for the first time. Never picked up a metal bat before I bought him a $30 bat at Walmart 2 days before his first practice. Had a glove for the first time about 2 weeks before that.

Well, he did really well this year. Was the only 1st year player on his team other than 1 of the coach's 2 kids. Was the only one that could consistently catch so he played 1B all year. Long story short, he made the All-Star team, and likely would have been 1st or 2nd if they had an MVP for the organization's 3 Pinto teams.

1st practice of All-Stars, there's 13 kids on the field. Nearly every kid on the field is represented by his dad. 13 kids, 8 coachdads. There are 2 sets of brothers. The only non-coachdads were me, a dad who wasn't there, and another dad who essentially coaches his kid by hand signals and lip reading from outside the fence.

Granted my kid's 8, so it's only coach-pitch baseball. But he's the best player in his age group, almost easily. I got a big smile on my face at the first AS practice as the other all-stars are coach's kids, who have only ever played baseball (my son plays football and basketball also), and played for multiple years. And my son just walked on the field this spring and is just naturally better than them all. Some of these kids have multiple gloves, multiple $150+ bats. My kid has a $20 glove from a sporting goods store. And a $30 bat from Walmart.

Pretty crazy to me to spend a ton of money on a sport for an 8-year old when they will either outgrow it or give up the game altogether eventually. It's not like an expensive bat can make a kid that can't hit, able to hit. A $50 glove isn't going to catch the ball better. I understand when you get to a certain age and there is a legit competitive advantage that could come into play. But it's nuts how serious these dads are about coach pitch baseball.

Update, my kid is not hitting that well in All-Stars. I mean, he's still getting on base more than not but a lot of errors and beating out IF hits rather than smashing the ball. But he had the play of the tournament this weekend as he gunned a kid out at 3rd base from a few feet in front of the 175ft mark in left center, on a 1-hop strike that the 3rd basemen caught and applied the tag at the same time. Pretty freaking amazing throw from an 8-year old. Of course, he did come in on a fly ball and missed it in the first place....but that doesn't fit the narrative.

All of the boys and the coach have been rescued from the cave. That is absolutely amazing. Looking forward to the movie in 3-5 years.

He's great, and hollywood can do some awesome stuff with CGI, but I'm not sure he'd pass as a Thai boy.

I like how Elon Musk managed to worm his dumb, Tony Stark-wannabe face into this story, went so far as to actually show up with his rushed, ridiculous human torpedo nightmare that nobody wanted, and then basically bounced and was all, "you guys can throw this away for me, right? Thanks! Byeeeeeeeeee!"

Yeah, Musk is a horsefeathers person billionaire. Anything good that results from his egomania is a side effect and not a feature.

I didn't realize there was such hatred for Musk. I mostly ignore him as another rich guy doing rich guy stuff.

I don't care enough about him to know public opinion of him.
