on a positive note my daughter did find a show called "little einsteins" that highlights music and art. She's 2 1/2 and told me she named her stuffed unicorn "mona lisa" because "sometimes she looks happy and sometimes she looks sad."

My daughter is 9 months. She doesn't actually like any shows yet, but she looooves the intro music to most shows. Playing the opening credits to Futurama or Bob's Burgers will take her from a full blown tantrum to gleefully squeeling in a heartbeat.

The only exception is Paw Patrol, which she will watch a bit of. So we took her to one of those live shows and she had an absolute blast. I was a bit worried she was too young for it, but she made it through the whole thing.

As long as we are talking about kids, I'll tell my favorite story of my older kid doing something awesome/bad. So, she's always had a pretty good vocabulary, so when she was about 2 she figured out that "horsefeathering" was a bad word (f-word style). She would just lurk around the house and get a grin on her face and just proclaim "horsefeathering!" I told her its not cool saying that word. "What? Why?" "Well, saying horsefeathering is for adults." "Oh, ok."

5 minutes later a friend of mine rings the doorbell, so my daughter and I go to answer it. Before my friend can even enter the house, my daughter proclaims, "Horsefeathering is for adults!"

Remember that time when everybody thought Zuckerberg was a real presidential candidate?

Mark Zuckerberg’s forehead is likely a little more moist than usual this afternoon. On Wednesday, several major public funds issued a statement backing a push to remove the Facebook founder from his position as chairman of the board. Amid countless scandals and a steadily dropping stock price, the effort would be all but certain to succeed at any other company.

This morning, the state treasurers of Rhode Island, Illinois, and Pennsylvania joined forces with the comptroller of New York City to sign on to a proposal first issued by Trillium Asset Management in June. Between them, the officials control hundreds of billions of dollars in state investments and pension funds. They are requesting that Facebook’s shareholders consider replacing Zuckerberg with an independent chairman. In the statement, they highlighted the fact that 59 percent of companies on the S&P 1500 separate the roles of the CEO and chairman in order to provide true independent oversight of corporate governance. They also said that this oversight is needed because Facebook has mishandled “a number of severe controversies.”

I still will never understand how Facebook became some type of thing. Looking forward to it becoming as relevant as MySpace.

I never invested in it because I never got what useful service Facebook provides.

Zuckerberg can't go away fast enough.

At it's best, Facebook is a quick way to keep in touch with friends and family...share pictures, major events and the like. Of course it morphed into something much, much worse than that, but I get what it CAN be. I ended up caving and joining several years ago just because I had enough family sharing photos and information through that medium.

It's crazy easy to use Facebook only as a simple social media platform.

I mean, that's kinda the internet's whole deal: it's simultaneously one of the greatest things to happen to/for mankind, and one of the absolute worst and most destructive.

Also: Trump isn't president without Twitter, full stop.

Trump isn't president without reddit, full stop.

Trump isn't president without 4chan, full stop.

Trump isn't president without 24 hour news networks, full stop.

Hell, without the internet Trump isn't president, full stop. How far do you want to unpack this?

Someone acting like they can't figure out the purpose of Facebook, or like if Facebook had been shut down or strictly monitored then it wouldn't have just been some other social media network or site being used for evil, is just pissing into the wind. Facebook can be and often is garbage because the internet can be and often is garbage. You're never getting away from the garbage. Never.

This analogy gets worse every time I read it. It's literally nothing more than, "HERE ARE TWO THINGS I DON'T LIKE BECAUSE TRUMP = SAME? OK BYE."

It's crazy to think how I was in college when Facebook happened, it was for .edu email addresses only and it was the greatest thing ever

15 years later it's a hellscape for your weird aunts and lunatic uncles. Nuking my account was the best thing I ever did.

When it is all said and done, The Social Network will be the one redeeming thing that came out of Facebook. Though I wonder if it holds up, I loved it in the theater and was confident in my opinion it should have won the Oscar for Best Picture.
