Seems pretty stable from Clinton through Obama (four years each coinciding with their terms, Christopher, Albright, Powell, Rice, HRC, Kerry). Even going back past that, HW's resigned right before the end of his term to run a failed re-election campaign, and then Reagan's resigned 18 months into his first term, replaced by Shultz, who held it for almost 7 years.
Basically, this doesn't happen. It's fun watching the White House talk out of both sides of their mouth, how they embrace the chaos of the Cabinet because they love people with differing opinions and pushing debate, yet Trump seems to love firing anyone who even considers going against him.
