The public doesn't matter much as far as this goes because Trump won't/can't end the investigation unless he wants a short cut out of the White House. People believe what they want about the investigation largely depending on what party they vote for. All that really matters is what Mueller can prove and who is in charge of Congress. Everything else is daily political chat window dressing.

Yeah, I think the whole "public opinion about the investigation" thing just speaks to how, as with anything, the public generally grows less interested in something when the general idea is "nothing" is happening. They're bored.

Americans have the attention of adolescent puppies, but unless support for the investigations goes way under (which is highly unlikely in a polarized political climate), who gives a horsefeathers? When Mueller finally releases his report, I suspect that Trump will be painted as at minimum compromised by Russia or Saudis. At worst (best) he is impeached and thrown in prison. The relatively slow news weeks don’t mean anything. All that matters is the Mueller report.

Pretty much. Any poll of how "popular" the investigation doesn't mean squat.

I disagree, if Cohen and Manafort get arrested and Trump knows to what extent the DA/Mueller knows, increases the chances of a Saturday night massacre.

The sway in the GOP and Public Opinion will determine the speed of the outcome afterwards, it becomes harder to do if Trump has an approval rating at 45 instead of 30.

...do you remember what happened in the Saturday night massacre?

The action itself, outcome, or both?

I would hope it would lead to impeachment after the midterms but I wouldn't guarantee that would happen.

To one person and his staff as well as the network pushing his narrative, that poll would mean everything if it was in his favor.

The public opinion of the investigation would basically have to be out and out loathing of it for Trump dismantling it to not blow up in his face. As worrisome as his popularity polls are in regards to something like him sneaking a second term, he's nowhere near popular enough and the investigation is nowhere near unpopular enough for him to torpedo it and emerge unscathed.

Corey Stewart just got his ass handed to him by Chris Cuomo.

Cuomo should be on CNN 24/7.

CNN still suffers from horsefeathers leadership, as does NBC news (evidenced by them telling Ronan Farrow to take a hike when he wanted to report on Weinstein). Not being Fox News isn't enough. I really don't have a point other than that. I'm just really annoyed by the rich person ecosystem that recycles trash for our daily consumption. I have zero realistic answers.

Our horsefeathering POS president wouldn't last a horsefeathering day in the prison camp otherwise known as the DPRK. That [expletive] has no sense of what hardship is. horsefeathers him.

This is nothing new.....he had his false equivalence about what Putin does and what America does as well.

It's simple: he worships dictators and hates democratically elected leaders. It's very simple

Trump has basically set up concentration camps near the border while ordering the separation of families.

Also the kids being held at these camps get just 2 hours of sunlight a day and are taught American History with a focus on the glory of Donald Trump.

It's beyond horsefeathers up.

It's also Trump sending a message to ALL immigrants, legal or illegal. He wants to make the idea of immigrating to the US to be so horrific that no one will do it anymore

I continue to despise the hypocritical white evangelical population for supporting this regime. Their craven belief system is laid bare.

Oh it's even worse than that. The quote is from "The Art of the Deal", referring to Trump kicking rent-controlled tenants out of his buildings.

Yes, yes. Saving the GOP (from the vipers it welcomed with open arms) is what matters. Focus people, focus.
