Put a poster of Sarah Palin in a bikini in that pic and I'm convinced it's OMC.

One of the weirder things about gun humpers is their desperate insistence that guns are just these normal, everyday things. Like, pretty much any other hobby or activity or collectible that people are passionate about, you're likely in for a world of hurt if you get the people into them talking about them in ANY context, since they'll just want to go on and on about how special and awesome this thing they love is, but gun humpers can't wait to pretend to normal people that guns are as boring and unremarkable as a hammer or a wrench or something. Like this dude is posting that like it's his horsefeathering garage or like he's just wandered into the hardware store. You'd think they treat these things with a little more respect since they fight for the right to own them like it's this holy permission from God himself.

Oh, except when someone gets the details about a gun type wrong after a shooting. THEN they can't wait to turn into Encyclopedia Brown about these horsefeathering things, and demand that people really know and respect their horsefeathering guns. But when THEY'RE showing them off? fullback, it might as well be them just showing off some new tires or something! They're just guns, y'all!

Speaking of gun nuts:

Louisiana officials blocked two of the nation's largest banks Thursday (Aug. 16) from involvement in a $600 million road-financing plan because they have policies restricting gun sales and manufacturing by their commercial customers.

In a narrow 7-6 vote, the State Bond Commission refused to allow Citigroup and Bank of America to work as underwriters on the interstate highway financing deal.

Those pushing to exclude Bank of America and Citigroup from the financial work said by enacting firearm restriction policies for their corporate customers, the banks were violating Second Amendment rights.

https://www.nola.com/politics/index.ssf ... sales.html

Essentially, our state officials are driving up our interest by eliminating 2 banks that will actually do business with this state, taxpayers will have to foot the bill when we inevitably get sued, PLUS they are delaying some vital projects including building an actual exit from the freeway to the new NOLA airport that will be opening in February. Why, because they've rationalized that a private entity can infringe on 2nd Ammendment rights. horsefeathers these guys.

I had one of their albums, the one with that hoorrible flood song on it. The church I went to would have these flea marketish things that included bundles of used CDs. Superunknown and ....ha, Jars of Clay for... a dollar?! SOLD. I similarly bought S.M.A.S.H. on casette and a Newsboys CD for a .50 cents. No idea what was going on there, or in the 90s in general.

Chuck Todd following the time honored tradition of Tim Russert and allowing politicians to lie on TV and not get a follow up.

It's cute how so many media observers (even liberal ones) think that moderator/host prep matters so much. Real time fact checking doesn't even horsefeathering matter. When will it just be accepted that asymmetrical disinformation campaigns aren't about fostering debate? It's about flooding the airwaves/print media/social media with lies. Kellyanne Conway, Rudy Guiliani, et al, win simply by being allowed a platform.

It used to matter. I agree with you, but it sucks that real-time fact checking does nothing for most viewers. I agree that blatant liars like Conway and Guiliani shouldn't be allowed to spew their lies anywhere except on Fox News.

The sad thing is everyone who posts here is a high-information, highly informed voter/constituent. That's just not the case for most people... If people don't even bother to learn the facts on public policy and what each political party believes in then why would lies matter?

The good news is the younger generation is very active and becoming more involved in politics and very left-leaning. They're also very good at spotting disingenuous takes from politicians, like Rubio on gun control/regulation. I've given up on older voters who watch Fox News and refuse to learn the truth/real facts. horsefeathers 'em.

That's incorrect, as hell.

Getting embarrassed is still a thing that exists. Especially for these people. The problem is that Todd and others risk access when they do it. The point isn't a debate, it's correcting statements that aren't based in fact.

They cannot "win" simply by stating lies unless the lies go uncorrected.
