Yeah, I topped out at 91%. I was a nerd about it and did every question possible, did the expanded options for pretty much every question, and did the rankings of the importance of each one, so I figure that gets it at least a bit more specific.

Looking back over the historical elections through Truman, I unsurprisingly usually come out to about 85-15 in favor of the Democratic candidate. The lowest ones, however, were only 59% for JFK, and only 80% for both times Obama ran.

Last election I was 89% for Jill Stein (blargh!), 85% for Clinton, and then 62% for something called Zolstan Istvan?

Yeah, I'm gonna have to try retaking later with the expanded questions. I did do some specifying of most/least in some of them, but apparently that didn't do much to differentiate.

For some of these social questions, I keep expecting to expand the choices and seeing one that says "Yes of horsefeathering course how is that even a question?"

Like for instance the 'should women be allowed to wear a Niqāb, or face veil, to civic ceremonies' question

85% socialist
84% peace and freedom
82% green
80% dem
66% libertarian
33% republican
31% constitutional

And my candidate is candidate is Andrew Yang

Normally i get the green party when i do these. Kinda surprised that socialist was so high.

I think you need to expand the lists to answer more questions to get better matches.

I did that, answered all of them, with most being a detailed answer rather than a straight yes/no. Didn't do any ranking though.

I got 96% for Elizabeth Warren as my top choice and 95% for Bernie and Julian Castro. Pretty happy with my results

90% Warren, 89% Bernie. As expected, though I will not support Bernie unless he's the Dem nom. I've stated my reasons for that upthread and won't rehash.

Thanks for clearing that up, as I'm sure a ton of people were chomping at the bit to rehash that.

Is Tulsi Gabbard not popping up on people's lists, or are you all too embarrassed to show where she falls?

I am NOT a Gabbard fan, to be clear

She is on the list, but for me not high enough to matter.

Answering a bunch more of the expanded questions didn't do much to change the congestion, but it did change my results.

Harris 95%
Warren/Sanders/Gillibrand 94%
Castro/Buttigieg 93%

The site actually does a decent job of breaking down what it thinks of your views vs. the candidates' and how they reflect on the spectrum; I will fully cop to having to take another look at Harris because of this. I really largely dismissed her because of her history as a prosecutor.

And Gabbard was in a really unappealing 87-86-85 Klobuchar-Gabbard-Yang sandwich for me. It's not that surprising; outside of her crappy foreign policy takes, she's not that far off from me on paper. I would imagine that if a question along the lines of, "would you support a candidate who is neck-deep in an insane, abusive, corrupt cult," then she'd probably go plunging down the charts. Same with Klobucahr and they're not being a, "I'm not a fan of someone who routinely abuses their staffs and eats a salad with a comb" option.

For me, the weird outlier with the Democratic endorsements at this point is Booker. He's technically in third, but the guy has had seemingly zero momentum at all to this point. Even Klobuchar in 4th makes a bit more sense because she's had decent media highlight moments even after all the stuff about how she's a nightmare boss.

The pessimist side of me says Booker is the obvious pick for who the wimpy DNC stalwarts desperately want to be "their" nominee, and that's why he has that much party backing despite seemingly almost no public traction.

Oh, it got headlines and everything:

https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/2020-e ... ys-n974746

Sen. Amy Klobuchar, D-Minn., is facing additional allegations of abusing her staff after a report Friday said the presidential candidate berated an aide for forgetting to bring utensils — forcing the lawmaker to eat a salad with a comb.

The episode happened in 2008 while the lawmaker was traveling with aides to South Carolina and a staffer bought a salad for Klobuchar while carrying bags through the airport, The New York Times reported.

However, the aide forgot utensils and the flight had none on board, prompting Klobuchar to berate the aide and pull a comb from her bag to eat the salad, the paper reported citing four people familiar with the episode. Klobuchar then directed the aide to clean the comb after she had finished.

I figure her response went a little something...like this:

That was interesting, I was surprised to see that Warren doesn't support being able to sue gun manufacturers, given how much she's into corporate accountability. Unsurprisingly, the places where I deviated from Harris were on crime(right to vote for criminals, police body cameras, death penalty)

Also, LOL

I can't wait for someone to ask Joe Biden about student loan forgiveness.
