Is there a well-known reason why having a democrat as governor is the norm in Kentucky but they've had 2 republican senators for the last 20 years by pretty comfortable margins?

And I loved this comment:

Mayor Pete is the Big Bang Theory of politicians: bland, unoriginal, and makes very shallow appeals to nerdism because a bunch of suburban normies want someone who makes them feel intelligent. Like Big Bang Theory, indulging in Mayor Pete’s schtick says a lot about you as a person. You have no core ideals, no vision, no taste, and you’re a rube that’ll fall for any poll-tested [expletive] that marketers will throw your way. He’s the DNC’s idea of what a progressive is. It’s a coin-flip between him and Amy Kloubuchar over who is the most insufferable chud in this primary.

Progress is bold, compromising your values to appease people who have a mutually exclusive vision of America will get us nowhere. Civil rights was not a compromise between African Americans and segregationists. Women’s suffrage was not a compromise between feminists and misogynists. “Pragmatic” is code for “The status quo is fine and I won’t do anything to fundamentally change it.” Mayor Pete is trash, and glad Nathan Robinson of Current Affairs pegged him for the truthless slug that he is months ago.

I noted upthread that #nevertrump & conservative Dem-types I know prefer Kloubuchar, but would also accept Pete as alternatives to Biden. This quoted description totally lands.

Bevin (barely) lost to the most centrist Dem that ever centristed. It's good, but the talking heads who think this means something for 2020's presidential race need to dial it back, and Warren/Sanders fans REALLY need to think about what they're saying

I mean, it's Kentucky, not a swing state. In a lot of ways (except for one MAJOR way), it's Jones v Moore v2. No one expects to flip Kentucky, but there are parts of Kentucky that flipped that can be projected out to a lot of other parts of the country. And as a nice little bonus, maybe it gives us a shot of sending McConnell out to pasture.

you know it's an obvious crime when even a corrupt stooge like barr won't publicly cover for trump.

Sessions jumping into the race has the knuckledraggers biting each other down here. I think chances are pretty good he'd make it through the primary. Last time Luther Strange was Trump's guy, but he was tied to our "Love Gov" and lost to Moore. Regardless, it doesn't look good for Doug Jones and just about everyone knows that.

So incestuous down there......politically.

Getting Doug Jones for 3 years was a bit of an unexpected bonus. However Trump has put just about everywhere on the map in play so who knows??

Zuckerberg shares some traits with president cheeto. They're both incredibly spiteful and narcissistic and seem ok with the world burning.

This will be the only time Mojo deserves a compliment but his early angst and what I thought to be over the top hatred of Zuckerberg was spot on and well-deserved.

I dunno. What is he polling head to head with Trump?
