I didn't know much about Kushner outside of the Trump arena. I mean I already hated him because of that and how incompetent he was, but then I watched the "Slumlord Millionaire" episode of Dirty Money on Netflix the other week and now it's as if he's on par with being as despicable as Trump himself.

Man, if Jared Kushner were a host in a Westworld-themed park, I would have no qualms shooting his smug evil face to pieces...

He looks like the standard stock corporate villain in any movie.

Cut him some slack. He might have just gotten off the phone with the Georgia governor.

Yeah, I was going to make a similar joke but it's just too depressing. An incompetent President puts his incompetent son-in-law in charge to then talk to an incompetent governor...

This isn't some [expletive] Middle-East peace plan; people are dying and it's only getting worse.

What? The guy whose company perpetrated historically massive Medicare fraud cooked the books to make employment numbers look better for him as governor? Say it ain't so. Good thing he paid for it in terms of losing his status as governor......by being elected to the US Senate.

He's not an elected official, has no official position, there's no legislation required, his ineptitude is costing lives, not Monopoly Money, lives, someone can and should physically remove him from the equation.

If Vito were alive there's no way in hell NY City would have a shortage of anything related to COVID-19. However, not a bad thought on your part.

Fun fact: With this recession looming, every single republican president since Reagan will have had a recession begin during their presidencies. The democratic presidents have had zero begin during their terms.

Please feel free to share the next time someone says Republicans are better for business.

I'm sure this additional data point will be enough to move the remaining holdouts from their reasoned SSS argument.

Republicans are better for business in the sense that they shield them from the worst effects of recessions, while letting the middle and lower classes suffer the brunt.

The deep Southern states have some of the worst people alive as governors. Thankfully, we actually have a competent Democrat in office who’s handling this fairly well.

He’s far too moderate for me or nearly anyone on this board, but he’s about as Left as we’re going to get here. That, and surprise, he turned Bobby Jindal’s massive economic black hole into a surplus in his first term.

I started reading this after seeing this posted here. I probably shouldn't given the state we're in as a society since I could use a little less rage-inducing stress in my life, but holy horsefeathering hell. It's so messed up.

One thing that I've been kicking around in my head is that this whole ordeal has the potential to really highlight and make popular the demand for Universal Health Care.

But I think the one thing that isn't going to be popular with the current M4A proposals is the whole "pay doctors medicare/medicaid rates" when this is all said and done. Even though that argument lacks tons of nuance I think it will be a pretty effective rebuttal to the average voter. That was probably already a hard sell and now people will be even more emotionally tied to the benefits of doctors. So if there is any UHC in sight is it via a much more expensive or less generous plan that still aims to control long term growth, but short term keep reimbursement rates similar to the private markets (and really just pass on some immediate administrative costs savings)

I think it also hammers home the need for a $15 minimum wage as we watch these grocery workers and fast food/restaurant employees that are still employed get put through the ringer.
